Power Rangers Dino Supercharge Mid-Season Finale Preview

Posted on March 23, 2016 at 10:02 pm by TokuChris under Power Rangers

After a few weeks of speculation on when the annual hiatus would begin for Power Rangers Dino Supercharge, Saban Brands drops the episode preview and episode preview still images to the Power Force revealing that, indeed, this weekend is the last new episode of Power Rangers Dino Supercharge for the foreseeable future.

In this episode, “Riches to Rags“, a hybrid monster uses a spell to make those who take his gold coins become greedy while Ivan laments over destroying a thousand year suit of armor and ends up in debt.

Heckyl has a scheme! Ivan destroys a suit worth a lot of money, and Heckyl creates a "hybrid monster" (aka suit reuse with a new head) that casts a spell on anyone who touches his gold coins!

The mid-season finale airs this Saturday on Nickelodeon.

Great. So now we gotta wait until August to see Silver's identity.

    I hate Nick right now.

Not a bad episode, but not exactly an exciting one either. Seems like a weird episode to end on before a big break. Especially with that overly ridiculus end scene...

Was it me, or was some of the acting a tad... subpar? I mean, I laughed at Morgan's gold line where she took off her glasses, but not because the scene was genuinly funny. I'm not sure if the writting is slipping, or if I'm noticing these things more.

Overall plot is kinda mediocre but I think it's worth it just to see Ivan take center stage.

Davi Santos may be the best overall performer in this cast. Not just in terms of line-reading; his entire on-camera presence is just fantastic with so many little details like posturing and facial expressions that really sell everything he does.

I'm gonna just assume Phillip couldn't lend them the money himself because he spent his entire personal fortune trying to impress the Energem. :P

also, either Kendall's math sucks or the value of gold has fluctuated wildly over the years. Fry got over $4 BILLION with just his pocket change's interest in only slightly longer than Ivan's imprisonment.

It was not the worst episode they've recently done, and it's one of those you could stand to watch again. Could it have been accomplished differently? Yes!

It echos early Season 1 when Ernie nearly lost the Juice Bar and Jason got bit by the Fighting Flea after he and Kim found a lost dog. The woman behind the dog was gracious and when the teens defended Ernie as the true recipient, she gave him a check of indeterminate amount which allowed him to save the Juice Bar. The point here? The money woes in a single episode of PR are typically resolved at the end, and the plots of the two do share similarities up to a certain point.

Ivan's reactions and responses fit with his disassociation over modernism. Singe's true leader is curious and begs more questions than it currently answers, but so does "Little Rexy" popping-in when no one gave him the proper charger. It's sad that Philip only appeared at the end, especially when his Zord got used.

Nice Futurama reference (Ha, ha!), but there were real-world conflicts with Fry and his thousand-year interest:

Nice to see they remembered that Tyler can't use super mode and the Dino charge megazord at the same time... And since when did
Mini Rex just show up outta nowhere?

This is another one of those "feel good" episodes. It did well in the sense that it had a self-contained story, and Davi Santos is the star of the entire cast and it was great to see him in the spotlight again.

But yet, here we are, no real plot. And while that's fine by itself, we also had Dino Charge, which basically moved a plot forward for the majority of the season - whether it was looking for Tyler's dad, looking for Fury because he has a person in him, finding the Gold Energem, getting the Pterazord Charger, finding the Purple Energem ... the list goes on. So far in Dino Supercharge, we've had some plots finalized (Tyler's dad) and yet the overall plot (Silver Energem, Keeper, Sledge) has gone nowhere with no development.

Yes, Singe has a boss he's working for in secret, but that's probably the big bad of the season, or Deboss in Kyoryuger, because Sentai footage for the finale.

Dino Supercharge fails to impress because the types of episodes we are getting now we SHOULD have gotten in Dino Charge, not the other way around.

Again, not a bad episode, but this isn't the episode you leave the show on a 5 month hiatus for. How more badass would it have been to have, say, Talon Ranger walk out of a cell at the very end? Or maybe a brief clip to show us that only is Sledge alive, he's planning his revenge?

Nope - Ivan and the rich douche throwing $2 million at each other. Somewhat disappointing.

Let's hope the second half is a little bit stronger.

I have to disagree I hate when shows go on long hiatuses with a cliffhanger.

We can hope yes, but as I like to point out:
"It's still better than Super Megaforce."

I liked the exchange between Ivan and Mr. Smith at the end. Sadly my DVR cut out before I could see how Ms. Sanders gave Ivan his check.
