The new Garo movie, entitled Garo: Dragon of the Blue Cry, has just had its first screening at the Tokyo International Film Festival. Among those attending the event were director Keita Amiyama and popular Japanese actress Keiko Matsuzaka, who plays the villain of the movie.
Following on from the end of Garo: Makai Senki, Dragon of the Blue Cry sees Makai knight Kouga Saejima travelling through the Promised Land to honour the contract he made to the Makai entity Gajari. Matsuzaka plays Judam, evil Queen of the Promised land. She is a brutally evil character, but with an innocence of a little girl. She said she had fun doing the action scenes and despite celebrating her sixtieth birthday this year, she still engaged with wirework for the first time and found it to be a challenge.
Garo: Dragon of the Blue Cry will be released publicly in Japan February 2013. In the meantime, check out the trailer below and discuss this news after the jump!

This reminds me of Labyrinth for some reason. I really need to watch more then one episode of Garo....But why not shots of him in the suit? Isn't that like watching a trailer for Iron Man with only shots of Tony Stark? or am i way off on this?
Dr Kain says
Wow, when did Kouga go to OZ?
Sentai says
Ah. Nothing like the supreme WTF of Garo. I missed you buddy.
Is it odd the only part that weirded me out was the blue skinned girl?
Kiryu says
The Promised Land looks an aweful lot like Oz.

While I loved Makai Senki, I kinda miss the creepy horror vibe of the first season rather than the trippy effects-laden road Garo has gone down.
Ah well, I'm still looking forward to this. There hasn't been a piece of Garo fiction I haven't enjoyed yet.
Switchblade says
Looks cool. The vibrant colors are a bit odd for a Garo film, but the prospect of the whole thing being green screen with crazy Keita Amemiya designs appeals to me.
Blade Raider says
This is looking rather strange with all the bright colors, but knowing Garo this place is going to burn. If this really is the finale of Garo, I hope they get to supporting cast in there somehow.

Unless that's another girl. Blue people look all the same to me.
