Medicom Real Action Heroes DX Kamen Rider Ryuki

Posted on October 25, 2012 at 12:30 am by Shin Densetsu under Kamen Rider

Medicom has updated their site with new images and information for their upcoming Real Action Heroes DX Kamen Rider Ryuki figure.

“I cannot survive if we do not fight!”

Kamen Rider Ryuki was the subject of one of our 1st Let’s Watch Wednesdays at Tokunation.com segments. Ryuki was a series from a decade ago, and the 2nd Rider series to be localized in America)as Kamen Rider Dragon Knight). It seemed like Ryuki was getting a lot of love from Bandai recently, and Medicom is now following suit. Here’s some product information for Real Action Heroes No.609 Kamen Rider Ryuki:

  • March 2013 release
  • 19,950 yen
  • Sculpted by Simon & PERFECT-STUDIO
  • Costume production by Mieko Akimoto
  • Height: approximately 300mm
  • New head sculpt made completely out of ABS
  • Translucent plastic used for eye lens
  • ”Dragon Chest” made from PVC
  • Body suit made using 3-dimensional printing process
  • Drag saber is sharp and made of ABS
  • Includes display stand
We have attached the official images from Medicom in addition to a scan from Figure King #177 courtesy of the Cybergundam Blog. Check out images of RAH DX Kamen Rider Ryuki after the jump!

So is there any difference between this and the Dragon Knight Medicom? I really can't tel.

From what I can gather, the red is darker on Dragon Knight, and the eyes are a little more pronounced here. Dragon Knight's head also seems to be a little more pinched inwards. DK's also a wee bit shorter. But those are ridiculously arbitrary differences.

I see. I thought this was a straight up reissue of the DK Medicom, just under Ryuki now. The difference are really subtle.

...Too expensive...And not in scale with anything else I own. I'd be weird to pose him next to my sole SideShow Firefly figure.

Honestly? I'd rather have the Figuart. Less chance of the costume ripping, like I've heard happens with these.
