Long ago, in the time of the dinosaurs, the earth was invaded by forces from outer space. The only people capable of the stopping them was a team known as the Kyouki RyunoSha (roughly “People of the Strong Dragons”) or, Kyoryuger for short. Now, in the modern world, they return using the powers of the Beast Batteries to fight off this revived threat.

So... it's a sequel to Zyuranger and a homage to Abaranger?
So...Did the aliens return, or did the dinosaurs return?
And if it was the aliens that came back, where did they get the dino mechs?
Sounds like MMPR's season 1 to me. Aliens attack earth. They need special powers to fight them. They robot dinosaurs to fight them. Now all we need is a giant floating head as their commander.
Sentai backstories have never made logical sense (and yeah, I know we're already talking about a universe where people magically transform into suited heroes and control giant robots)
Dinosaur-people using batteries and robot dinosaurs are in the same vein as the Shinkenger ancestors using wooden paintbrush-cellphones. I guess sentai warriors are always secretly carrying technology way ahead of their time...
