Several new GARO projects were announced this past weekend at a special event in Japan!
Of particular note:
*The next Garo TV series will be called Garo: Retsuden! Details are sparse at the moment but this new series will feature characters from throughout the series’ history. Retsuden is scheduled to air in Spring 2016.
*Fan-favorite Makai Knight Zero will return again for a spinoff series, following on the success of 2014’s Black Blood. Actor Ray Fujita is set to reprise his role as the Silver Fanged Knight. Release date is sadly unknown at this time.
*Last but certainly not least, a film based on the anime Seal of Flames is also on the way, with the original cast reprising their roles! The movie, known as Divine Flame has a brief teaser:
Stay tuned to TokuNation as we keep you up to date on all Garo details!

Retsuden sounds interesting - kind of like an anthology series. Given some of the issues Garo has had with doing ongoing plots, this might be a good excuse to do more standalone episodes.
Apprehensive about another Zero series after what a mess Black Blood was.

That would be great, especially if it means we see things with Taiga, Kouga, Raiga, Ryuuga, and all the other Knights and Priests from the series if we could. That sounds great.
Also yes! I am so happy we get to see Leon continue I really enjoyed the second half of the first GARO anime so that makes me happy.

The first Zero series was alright. I hope the new one is better though.

I thought Ring was alright as a villain. It's the closest we're likely to get to David Bowie in a toku show. For me, the problem with Black Blood was that it simply did not need six episodes to tell that story. Half that would be ample.
If they really wanted six episodes, then perhaps some standalone "Horror of the Week" stuff thrown in would have been cool. Those Zero solo episodes of Makai Senki were some of my favourite episodes of any show.

I really liked Ring as well. He was far from the source of Black Blood's problems.
This all sounds great though. I'm always down for more Zero and the last Garo anime ended on a high, so this movie should be good. Garo Retsudan sounds particularly interesting.
