A little bit of sad news for those who have been waiting for the release of the first trade paperback of the new BOOM! Studios Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series – it has been delayed for a week, now releasing in comic book stores on September 14th and book stores on September 20th. No reason for the delay has been given.

The BOOM! Studios Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Volume 1 TPB collects issues #0 through #4 of the popular comic book series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and is labeled as “Green Ranger Year One”. Included are images of each cover of the book as well as the Adventures of Bulk and Skull.

    MMPR Volume 1 will now be in comic stores on September 14th followed by September 20th in book stores.

    The TPB includes Issues 0 through 4 of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers from BOOM! Studios, along with every single cover artwork, every story of the Adventures of Bulk and Skull, and a wonderful foreword written by Judd "Chip" Lynn.

    Not exactly surprising. I won't be surprised if the delay ends up being more than a week. I haven't been following the main title (which sounds more and more like a Tommy series the more I read about it), but every issue of the Pink Ranger miniseries after the first one has seen a delay in it's release.

    Only 4 issues? This is 2016, the industry standard is at least 6 issues at minimum.

    Well for one it's five issues, not four. Six issues for a trade is pretty common these days, but not something I would hold every trade to. Especially for any publisher that isn't one of the big names.

    Personally, they should have waited until this story arc is over.

    Now that I know they are just going to be releasing trades quickly, I might just drop the monthly run and wait for the trades.
