Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Gamer Driver Review by Long’s Toys

Posted on October 4, 2016 at 1:09 am by Chris under Kamen Rider

The first episode of Kamen Rider Ex-Aid has premiered and the hype is beginning to build across the fan community. Many fans are “feeling” the idea and premise behind this new series and many of us (including your’s truly) are now going back and placing orders for various merchandise.

One such item that is something of a collectible for Kamen Rider fans over the years is this year’s belt henshin device – aptly named the Gamer Driver. Unlike previous years, this year’s version has no electronics in it – instead all the electronics are in the collectible Gashats that you insert in to the driver.

But don’t let us tell you that – check out our buddy Long’s Toys and his review of the Gamer Driver in the video below! Be sure to Like the video and Subscribe to his channel!

Join in our on-going discussion of all the Kamen Rider Ex-Aid merchandise! See you next game!

I'm a little surprised we don't have a thread for this quite yet. Since we now have access to the toy catalog's images, perhaps now is a good time to start one?

I'm looking over my options to order one of the LVUR toys, although given my experience with the GC01 Ghost (quickly wholly replaced by the Figuarts version), I may skip straight over Ex-Aid and pick up Brave or Snipe instead. I'd kind of like to see how the level-up gimmick works in action. It looks like at least some sites are taking preorders in advance, but not all of them, and only LVUR01.

Are you interested in picking up any of the Kamen Rider Ex-Aid toys? If so, which interest you?

I'm interested in the gamer driver, the gashats, and the level up rider series. However the gashacon weapons just seem lame to me aside from the bugvisor

    New Infor for Ex-Aid toys:

    Quote:
[Tendou] Apart of a Kamen Rider Ghost x Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Handover Campaign, with the October 1st release of the DX Gamer Driver, the DX Ex-Aid Ghost Eyecon will be apart of a set. It will have the same sounds as the 45 Eyecon but with an extra Ex-Aid sound added to it.

Also, the Shakariki Sports Gashat will get a special early release September 17 for 1,500 yen. Most likely to promote Kamen Rider Genmu being in the finale of Kamen Rider Ghost using this Gashat against the Ganma.

Wow. The Gashacon Sword is actually painted? That is unexpected.

The LVUR figures actually look pretty decent, outside of the fact that like the Ghost ones they don't appear to be able to move their heads very much at all.

The LUVR figures sold out quickly on AmiAmi. I went insane and ordered Brave, Snipe, and Genm/Genmu on HLJ. (I figure I'll wait on the Figuarts version of Ex-Aid, but I want someone for him to tangle with once he shows up.)

Ah, I just read that only LVUR 01 will come with the parts for the Level 1 form. That's... an interesting decision, given that if someone wanted to display the different Level 1 forms together, they have to buy Ex-Aid four times.

...come to think of it, I don't know why this annoys me, since I don't - so far - actually like the Level 1 forms.

So what's the change gimmick that Ex-Aid will have for the figures?

I think it's two gimmicks. The first is an outer shell of the Level 1 form; Ex-Aid will come with the full thing, and Brave and Snipe will only come with faceplates. The other, if I'm gathering right, are the chibi power-up characters who turn into their Level 3 armor, but assuming I understand that properly, they'll be sold separately. I'm guessing they'll be sold as two-packs.

The Gamers (level 3 robots) for the first three Riders will be released separately, but the Chanbara and Sports Gamers do come bundled together. I assume because they're kinda non standard.

There's also sort of a gimmick with Lazer since he's a bike but can transform into a humanoid with the help of the Chanbara Gamer.

..Hm. I wonder if Lazer can fit in the Level 1 shell. He should be able to since he does have one in the show, but he is a bike...
