Tamashii Pick Ups: S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Geed Primitive Form and Shocker Combatman Renewal

Posted on September 22, 2017 at 1:33 am by Kiryu under Kamen Rider, Ultraman

FUSION UP!

As you may recall, an S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Geed Primitive Form was rumoured to have been in develoupment, thanks to a little blurb that was contained in the instruction manual for one of Ultraman Orb’s Figuarts, we finally have our first look at the figure thanks to Bandai’s most recent Tamashii Pick Up announcement with his only accessory being shown thus far being an effect piece to represent his Wrecking Burst finishing move.

In addition to that, we have the S.H.Figuarts Shocker Combatman Renewal utilizing the new body that was first seen at Tamashii Nations World Tour Taipei. Shown to include two weapons: a knife, and a staff as part of his accessory count.

Both figures will be released at mass retail as part of the February batch of releases, the price point has yet to be announced as of this writing but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as that info is made available. Until then, stay tuned and join the discussion after the jump.

Here's our first look at S.H.Figuarts Ultraman Geed Primtive Form whom we knew was in development and the Renewal Shocker Combatman Figuarts that was first spotted last week at Tamashii Nations World Tour Taipei.

Both will be mass retail releases in February 2018 as part of that month's Tamashii Pick Ups. Price of both has yet to be revealed.

I don't know if it's just me, but something about Geed looks really off. Maybe it's that his colors look too saturated compared with how he looks in the show? But I think there's something off about his proportions too. I get the feeling his head is too long and skinny, but I don't know if that's just my eyes playing tricks on me. Either way, I'm not enticed, which is a shame, because I actually rather like Geed's design, and that's honestly not something I can say about too many Ultras.

And the Combatman...his face is honestly pretty off-putting too.

    Yes! Geed!

Must have, he looks fantastic! Glad to get a Wrecking Burst effect too.

The Shocker grunt is okay I guess, I never had any need for these guys. I'm more looking forward to the Shocker Kaijin themselves.

It's an early notice on their website about things you'll be able to "pick up", or rather pre-order, at the start of the next month, featuring a few pictures to tease you.

So the Tamashii pick-up notice for February/March will feature a few items you'll be able to pre-order in that month.

In a week or so they will follow it up with an exact list of items going up for pre-order on a specified day with individual item pages and complete sets of official pictures for each.

He looks fine to me but I'm quite accustomed to being the only one who sometimes sees flaws in a Figuart no one else does so... I feel you.

So happy to see Geed. A must-have for me.

The Shocker Combatman I want, but I have Gipsy Danger coming that month so will have to skip for now. Hopefully it won't be too hard to get later down the line.

    Thanks for explaining Kiwami.

I was a bit concerned it was a new limited service.

No need to worry, it really is just a preview for the retail releases which you will be able to pre-order soon, they've been doing this kinda thing for a good while now.

Although they sometimes sneak Web-Exclusives in there, thankfully that's a rare phenomenon.

Yeah I have to agree with this. While I'm certainly looking forward to Geed, the Combatman looks off. Specifically the nose and mouth, which both look smaller than the previous images. Not only that, but the mouth itself looks like it had a pen taken to it just to make a contrasting line, but instead it looks really awkward and cartoonish. Gotta say the wrinkles in the mask also make it look like the head is caving in at certain angles.
Hell even the head logo is weird. It is a Shocker logo that exists, but I can't for the life of me recall any double wing design being used on the mask. Regardless, it's not the most widely used version, and certainly not the one used in the original series.

There's just so many confusing aspects about this design. They've fixed some things, like the mask having proper points for the eyes, better body design/articulation, etc. But messed up other aspects.

While I like the idea of a better-proportioned Combatman, I have to agree with the others about the face. For me, the problem is the neutral-bored expression. We couldn't get a scowl? A determined frown? I'm picturing a lot of unsatisfying action photos.

Yes Shocker Combatman just what I want. Very happy to see more stuff from Kamen Rider 1 line get release. Now I wonder will Bandai do 3 packs for the Black Shocker and Red Shocker hmm.

The face does not look off to me at all. I have the first Shocker release and he look just about the same to me.
