If you’re a fan of Hello Kitty and Kamen Rider, then we have a treat for you.

This year marks the 15th Anniversary of Kamen Rider Faiz first airing back in 2003 and to celebrate, a collaboration with the Hello Kitty Brand was announced at the Sanrio Expo.

A total of 22 types of merchandise will be sold as part of the collab, including tote bags, key chains, t-shirts, and phone cases they will be available on May 2018. We’ll keep you updated as to what else will be announced as part of this unusual partnership.

    Back in 2003, the Kamen Rider for that year was a cool mysterious young man who fought to protect the dreams of others by wearing a suit of armor thanks to a flip phone and a belt and fighting against the Orphenochs. Fast-forward to 2018, Kamen Rider Faiz, the 4th Heisei Rider show, celebrates its 15th anniversary by announcing a collaboration event with Sanrio's Hello Kitty in SANRIO EXPO 2018. On the day of this announcement, actors of the show Kento Handa who played Takumi Inui/Kamen Rider Faiz and Kouhei Murakami who played Masato Kusaka/Kamen Rider Kaixa(and recently Bud/Zyuoh Bird in Zyuohger) graced the stage with their prescence. Handa said he "could not be any more happier" and Murakami claimed the event to be "cute".
    A total of 22 types of merchandise will be sold such as tote bags and keychains,etc on May 2018.

    I do not get Faiz's enduring popularity. It had some cool suits, but the show itself was such a melodramatic clusterfuck.

    Also, I am so envious of Kento Handa's hair.

    Nothing says whiplash like a Faiz x Hello Kitty collab.

    Pairing up something as cute and fluffy as HK with something as dark and depressing as Faiz is practically joke-worthy.

    Faiz is just another to add to the list. The shirts they've made for this promotion though are gorgeous and I need them.

    I think one of the reasons it endured this much is that the main cast continues to communicate with each other like Hurricanger, Dekaranger, and Blade's cast, and people like Murakami embrace the memes and have fun with it themselves such as Kaixa day. As far as I can remember he has been consistant with that thing. Also Handa is a well-known celebrity in Japan post-Faiz as he garnered further popularity and attention as the young handsome celebrity with a love for classic Japanese pop music during the Showa era and also does not shy away from his toku background when brought up during variety shows, etc. And despite the narrative not being tidy enough the characters and gimmicks were popular looking back now.
