A few pages from the next issue of BOOM! Studios Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic series event Shattered Grid have been posted online thanks to SyFy Wire!
Lord Drakkon escaped from captivity and murdered the sentient sword Saba, an ally of the Rangers who helped Tommy Oliver and Billy Cranston survive in Drakkon’s alternate world. Drakkon even tricked Ninjor into restoring his powers before attacking Tommy shortly after his first date with Kimberly Hart. It was a vicious assault, and Tommy never stood a chance against his evil doppelganger. Now, the entire Power Rangers timeline could be at risk…Be warned, the preview pages contain SPOILERS for the previous issue- and possibly for the rest of this special event!

Them sticking with this development kind of makes the aftermath of this event super obvious (Not that how this all kicked off didn't already do that), but it's been done so well already after step one that I don't mind it. I want to see how far they're gonna take this before hitting the big red R button at the end.
Tommy's death kinda mirrors Burai's death in Zyuranger except the latter was more of a sacrifice to save a child whose time hasn't come to die yet. Tommy was just offed on a date with Kimberly simply because Drakkon was an asshole. I know he'll probably come back later as they'll erase this after the event's conclusion.
Man, even Bulk and Skull are grieving.
