LupinRanger VS PatRanger Super Battle DVD- “Girlfriends Army” Announced!

Toei has announced a new TerebiKun SuperBattle DVD special episode for the current Super Sentai series- Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger vs. Keisatsu Sentai Patranger!

This SuperBattle, titled Girlfriends Army– features a teamup between two of the Rangers- Umika/ Lupin Yellow and Tsukasa / Patren 3. Exact story details for this adventure are sadly unrevealed at time of writing.

Girlfriends Army is currently scheduled for release on June 30 2018! Stay tuned to TokuNation as we keep you up to date on all Super Sentai news!

    Either they both get boyfriends eventually or the show is about to introduce the first LGBT Sentais in history. Either one works for me.

    It's a semi-archaic way of saying things nowadays (at least in the US), but girlfriend and boyfriend can mean "friend who is girl/boy" instead of your SO. My 73 year old mother still calls all her friends girlfriends, and called a few of my male friends my boyfriends (and I'm straight) when I was a teen. In front of girls. Anyways, considering how Toku usually goes, I wouldn't get my hopes up for any form of relationships.

    Yeah, I forgot that girls tend to refer to each other like that as well.

    Either I've been exposed to too much fandom Doujin stuff, but I thought there was some heavily implied Shonen ai since the early 2000s.

    Boukenblack's unrequited love for BoukenRed and Go-buster Gold/Silver acting like a married couple in particular stand out. Some of the male masters in Geki too. GokaiGreen as well. Probably many more examples throughout too. Though yeah, nothing outright stated ever that I'm aware of.

    On the women side, DekaYellow comes to mind that stands out as maybe. GeKiYellow too, and the Penguin master she had I thought was alluded to as bi. Pretty sure Nai and Mare were a bit of an item too, but that's more due to vampire/succubus lore. Mele came across as coded as bi. Probably some others too. Again nothing outright stated tho.
