First Look at Rider Kicks Figures Build Armour Time Figure

Posted on August 24, 2018 at 3:27 pm by Kiryu under Kamen Rider

The start of Kamen Rider Zi-O is right around the corner, and the new Rider Kicks Figure has many collectors excited. Thanks to some magazine scans, we have our first look at the Rider Kicks Figure Build Armor Time.

On its own, the RKS Armor Time Build doesn’t look like he has much going for it aside from some very limited elbow and knee joints. Other than that,  it appears to be a hollow shell that you then attach to either Kamen Rider Zi-O or Geiz akin to the Level 1 forms from Ex-Aid’s gimmick line.

None the less, you can look forward to seeing this dropping in September, retailing for 1944 yen.

Seems like the RKF Version of the Build Armor time form will be nothing more than a hollow shell that you attach to other figures ala the Level 1 forms from Ex-aid's gimmick line. Due out next month in September for 1944 yen.

I will wait to pass final judgement when I see a video review of it but at least this is more posibility than the level 1 shells.

It looks like limited elbow articulation is possible, at least, and it looks like there might be joints (alas, not ball joints) at the knees and ankles. Also looks like there are hinges at the shoulders and hips. The armor probably murders the waist joint. The critical thing is how the mask is handled. I'm hoping that the mask replacements are detachable, separate pieces rather than being fused to the shoulders. Otherwise, it'll kill any neck articulation. Given that the mask is placed solidly when the shell is standing on its own, I fear there's not much hope for that.

Also, I don't think it can be an empty back like LVUR Level 1, since it's clearly reversible: white for Zi-O and black for Geiz, which is probably the main reason the figures are only photographed from the front.

On closer inspection of the image, the legs can definitely detach from the hips, which is promising.

Reminds me of Drago Knight Hunter Z.

Looking at it clearly, with your thoughts in mind about it being reversible, makes it pretty clear the whole thing is a double-sided clamshell.
All the joints are on the side and built so as not to obstruct movement in either direction, and Zi-O's watch hands actually serve to hide the back of Geiz's sticking-out katakana, and vice-versa.
In fact, I'm willing to bet that allowing for such a feature is much of the reason why Geiz's katakana stick out at all!

You can also see that the spare set of shoes act as heelspurs. My only question really is how to get the figures inside- it clearly doesn't have an open back, and I don't see any obvious place the torso could come apart. Perhaps it hinges upwards at the shoulders?

Since it will be double sided this would mean the full bottle shoulders will be red and blue on the front and back of them or else they would have to come off to swap around make the form look right.

Also the drivers are removable it seems because of the there is plastic on the shell that would get in the way of the driver if it were to slide through the hole.

It's a puzzle, since it looks like they're the same plastic piece as the rest of the shoulders. I'm hoping that the thing just comes apart somewhat like the in-show Armor Time effect does, since that would bode well for articulation.

Well with the type of hinge it looks like it has at the shoulder and thighs it should be able to pop off. Just not sure yet if it will be safe for the toy.
