The press conference for Kamen Rider Saber happened last night (for us in the US and Canada at least) and fans are ready! After seeing the first trailer as well as the cast we then got the first details of the merchandise.
Check out this year’s belt – the DX Seiken SworDriver!
You will insert a Wonder Ride Book – the Kamen Rider Saber accessory for the belt – then pull out the sword to activate transformation and cause the book to open. Check out the commercial below for a demonstration!
The DX Seiken SworDriver will release 09/05/20 in Japan for 7678 yen. No decision has been made yet for a US release – stay tuned.

Okay, as much as I think the belt looks really aesthetically unpleasing, I love how you can have 3 books form a complete image of the Rider.

Also they’ve got a preorder for a book set that I almost got excited about before realizing it was the candy toy ones and not the DX ones.

That RKF looks surprisingly good! The sword is painted and he has a book-holding hand. That's a lot more than I'd expect from the RKF!
I love everything about the SworDriver. But the jingles are long! Not that I think its a bad thing but I hope they don't play the full thing when transforming. I feel like its gonna detract from fights scenes a bit if they play the full thing.
The SworDriver looks nice, but I've always avoided Kamen Rider DX sword weapons because of how diminutive they look, and the Sword of the SworDriver is no exception!
I wonder if the sword is supposed to diagetically grow in the show? Or is it gonna entirely rely on prop magic?
I'm curious how this'll size up actually, it looks to be on the big side what with accommodating the sword.
I've heard some talk of the SG WonRideBooks having no electronics in them. Anyone know where this rumour came from & whether it's likely to be true or not? It seems odd to me, as I'm almost certain the majority of the transformation sounds come from the Books, unless there's genuinely an RFID scanner in the sword that's going through a good few layers of plastic! Now if the meaning was that SG Books would have sounds but no lights, that I could understand, but from the advert it doesn't even seem like the DX books have LEDS. I also wouldn't be too shocked if, again like lockseeds, the non-DX books weren't spring loaded.
Also, this gives us our first look at the Holder for the WRBooks! Looks like they sit at an angle for easy drawing, which is really nice - and looks like there's one on each side of the belt again.
It also confirms that the Stories slot (left, or right as you look at it) just shows the Rider's left arm and hand as the book's panels. Curious how this'll work for Espada, as both Saber and Blades have at least got their faces on there, just an arm would be a little awkward :')
