Novelist Toma Kamiyama has a recurring dream about a mysterious new world and an invasion of our world. But what happens one day when his dream becomes a reality!?

Not as spectacular as Zero-One's debut, but it's good so far.
Few minor gripes I have is that Touma suddenly has good swordsmanship skill despite his first outing as Kamen Rider. Aruto had some AI learning, so his was forgive and even he stumbled a bit.
CGI scene was eh but I was surprised at myself that I didn't hate it. Tho, it could look less saturated to match the irl filming. Blades with the CGI lion tho!
Calibur is very night rogue-y and purple, so I'm worried for him. But Horobi does exist tho. I like his buddies too, particularly the guy making the monsters.
The ED dance is... Something. I do like the sword dancing with Saber, Blades, and Espada tho.
Espada's gold and I like gold so... Hello there.

Kamen Rider Saber's transformation was okay. Not a big fan of the grunts and 'hah!'s that was played through it though. It kind of ruined an otherwise almost perfect henshin sequence in my opinion.
The finisher was great on the other hand. I appreciate the upward Rider Kick. Really reminded me of Ryuki's finisher as he jumped off the dragon. The flipbook-like sequences was a great visual touch.

Saber had a busy episode right off the start. It had a lot of good fighting and ton of CGI which made his debut stand out from other riders. I enjoy this Toma quite a lot just can't stand that screaming from the girl hopefully it stop in the later eps.
There a lot of plot details to get into. The first what happen to the guy who was Saber before Toma. Why did the ouja like rider (don't know the name) turn his back on Sword of Logos? What's the green madhatter guy deal? Also what secrets does the Books of Ancients have in it.
Have to say I got so many good vibes from Saber first ep it fresh new and very different from other rider shows. I feel were in for a fun ride many things I like with Gaim, Ex-Aid, and Zi-O very big plot mystery riders and shocking twist. It feels so good to have rider be different again it bring out the hype and thrills of what rider all about.
Hopefully this show will not make the same mistake like zero one did cough* gai cough* you know what I sayin.

Hm... Remember when Kamen Rider was more cool than cringe? Just finished watching the first episode of Saber and... if I had to summarize my opinions, it would be that Saber felt more sentai-like than I would have preferred? I mean, in this one episode, we have goofy support characters, we have CGI henshins, we have a group of villains hidden in the shadows watching over the monster attacking, we have a literal growing/giant monster... an ENDING THEME? It felt very, very Magiranger to me, especially with the purple knight badguy.Other than that, there are some things I liked, and some red flags.
Pros:
- The suit designs are awesome.
- The belt and gimmick toys are actually rather cool.
- Admittedly, the CGI wasn't cringy and the action was quite good.
- The backstory/lore with the swordsmen is really fascinating.
Cons:
- Too many children. Sorry, but I'm just not a fan of child actors, even in kid's shows. The fact that our main character is a bookshop owner that caters to children is worrying.
- The monsters are yet again generic and don't relate to anything. I don't understand how they were able to nail the monsters so well in some series, but just fail to do so in other shows.
Other observations:
- We don't even have specific victims this time around? I'm not sure whether this is a con or not (as the victim thing has been done to death), but how on Earth are they going to make us care for what's happening each week and keep us emotionally invested? I'd love for a serialized story once again like Gaim, but with this premise and set-up? I highly doubt it's going to happen.
- The Ridebooks look to feature more heavily in the plot and mythos than the Progrise Keys, which is great. However, it remains to be seen if they will play any significant role in the plot or be weaved into it in any meaningful way. Like, are they just going to be given and handed new Ridebooks instead of having to at least earn them somehow? Urgh, I hope not.

Saber seems like I'll have a fun time watching it.
One thing I will say for certain, holy cow that diorama that Touma has in his bookstore is like seriously amazing to look at!

Well the music is good.
The tone was completely different than I expected.
No matter what, I'll be looking forward to this season!

So..... Any idea who's going to be subbing the series considering over-time announced they're sitting this one out?
