Avataro Sentai Donbrothers VS Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger Special Announced

Toei has announced a new Super Sentai crossover special, featuring the Avataro Sentai Donbrothers facing off against the Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger!

Taking place one year after the finale of Donbrothers, the special begins when Zenkaiser appears to attack Don Momotaro.

The conflict between these two activates the DonZenkai Blade & Victory SuperGear which unlocks new power forms for both-
Golden Zenkaiser and DonZenkai Momotaro.

Donbrothers VS Zenkaiger will receive a theatrical release on May 3 2023 with a home media release scheduled for September 2023.

    It'll be interesting to see how the Donbrothers will react to Zenkaiger Kaito and If the two Kaito's will share a scene.

    Toshiki Inoue and Junko Komura are writing it together. What a fascinating combination, and I believe the first time Inoue has ever shared writing credit on a tokusatsu project.

    In Kamen Rider 1 from 2016, Inoue is listed as a co-author with Hiroshi Fujioka.

    I recall Inoue mentioned that he had never actually watched Zenkaiger before, so it makes sense that Komura would want to have her input. Who knows, maybe Inoue managed to watch Zenkaiger in his spare time? He totally should! A movie written by one of my favorite Rider writers together with my favorite Sentai writer? This is pretty exciting!

    Kind of disappointed that it looks like the two Kaito's will meet. Don Kaito never getting any sort of explanation, just more and more vauge hints at some sort of history as a legendary hero was one of my favorite running jokes with Donbros, and I was very much hoping the crossover would continue it, conspicuously never have them both on screen at the same time and one always conveniently running out of the scene for a minute before the other one walks into the room, stuff like that
