Samurai Sentai Shinkenger Receives Blu-Ray Release

The 33rd Super Sentai makes the transition to high-definition video!

“Samurai Sentai Shinkenger” has been selected for Blu-Ray release and will be made available in three box sets.

*Set A (containing the first 16) episodes will be released in February 2014.
*Set B (containing episodes 17 to 33 AND including the crossover with Kamen Rider Decade) will be released on April 11th.
*Set C (containing episodes 34-49) will be available on June 13th.

Each set has an estimated price tag of 20,700 Yen

    Sadly that is more or less typical pricing for the Japanese market. Which is why Sentai & Kamen Rider sets like this are so rare.

    Yeah, $207 is just funny. Would anyone pay that? I mean, my favorite thing in the world is downloading new Sentai episodes for free with subtitles in incredible HD quality - albeit with the occasional picture glitch...

    And it isn't even like you have to feel bad about using fansubs, since a) every sentai I assume must get their money back ten fold from merch and b) it isn't our fault that most of these shows never make it over here, subbed or dubbed or whatever.

    I paid 9800Y for each Zyu, Dai, Kaku, Time, Ginga, and Car volume, and those series are 4-5 volumes each. Also, the Gokaiger Blu-Rays cost me 6800Y for each volume and that show has 12 volumes not including the movies.
