The fan-favorite show Kamen Rider Ryuki featured over a dozen different Kamen Rider figures. Slowly but surely, Tamashii Nations is releasing all of those figures, and for today, we bring you a gallery by our photo staff member ryan of one of his favorites, Kamen Rider Scissors!

SH Figuarts Kamen Rider Scissors is the latest in a long line of amazing releases from Kamen Rider Ryuki. Sadly, he was a Tamashii Web Exclusive, and may be a little harder to track down, but he is definitely worth acquiring.
Scissors comes with a nice selection of accessories, a personalized Tamashii stage, four Advent Cards, his Visor, his Strike and Guard Vents, a bunch of hands and two card decks, one of which is shattered.

As with the other Ryuki Riders, Scissors shares everything from the torso down, and the arms from the biceps to the hands. Like the others, he features unique mask, shoulder armor, chest and back pieces, and as always, the distinct creature theme and coloring is different enough to make him stand apart from his fellows.
The shoulder-pads each have 3 pointy bits on the back, giving the impression of crab legs, the back has two larger pointy bits, finishing off the crab leg look. The mask features neat eye stalks with deep green eyes on the ends.
The articulation and solidness of the body is every bit what I except from the Ryuki Figuarts. At the same time, Scissors was also the most disappointing of Ryuki Figuarts I own, out of the box, as almost every single joint seemed paint-frozen at first, and had to be broken free. Once freed they all work great, though the bicep cuts are still pretty tight.
The paint work is excellent. The metallic orange is a beautiful color, and stands out from the black of the under suit brilliantly. Scissors mostly matches all the previous Rider releases (excluding Abyss, who has all that extra paintwork on the bodysuit), but the ribbing on the biceps and waist are painted with the metallic orange. The legs lack any orange paint, and sort of stand out in the starkness of the silver, I would have liked the calf armor to be orange, but I assume this is accurate to the suit in the show and not a fault of the figure.7
Accessory-wise, the claws on Scissors' Visor close to reveal the slot for the Advent cards, and the Strike Vent claw is also articulated, so you can choose how open or closed you want the claw. The shield clips on over the Visor and plugs into the forearm plug, and the card deck is removable, you can replace it with the broken deck, and perhaps someday in the near future Bandai will release Scissors' Contract Monster, so we can recreate the scene when his monster ate him.
He also includes the standard Ryuki hands, but in an interesting variation from other figures, he includes only two left hands (contrast to the rgeular 5 right hands plus card holding hand), a fist and a gripping hand for the Visor.
Another strange variation from earlier releases, Abyss and Scissors come with their personalized stands, despite not including their contract beast. Previously, the stands accompanied the contract beast releases, not the Rider. I would guess it's a welcome change for those that aren't going to get the Mirror Monsters, but since I am buying all of the Riders and all of the Monsters, it makes little difference to me.
The exclusive nature of the figure may make Scissors more expensive than some of the other Ryuki Figuarts, but I still firmly believe you cannot go wrong with any of the Ryuki line, really even for almost any price they are worth it in terms of accessories, articulation, and general execution (Well, except for probably Gai, who is just too darn expensive for the few accessories you get). They are fun toys, with lots of play value, and look fantastic displayed on a shelf.

I really like this figure. The bronze orange armor really makes him stand out on the Ryuki shelf but its the head sculpt that does it for me. A crab themed Rider is not usually something that's going to put you on guard but the weapon this guy comes with is sure to make his opponents feel otherwise. The stand and the broken deck were excellent touches. Not sure if I'd want the Ride Beast for this guy though.

Crazy that such a useless character makes for one of the best Ryuki figuarts
Scissors really is awesome. Glad I've got one as well.

I got mine and man, perfect Ryuki figure. I've got some that have loose joints or a loose belt, all out of the box of course, but this guy was perfect in every way a Ryuki Figuart could be perfect. Really liking him. Despite always being useless, and being the only Ryuki Rider to not have shin or forearm "armour" in his predominant colour, he's really great. I think he might be my favourite of the bunch, for now.
