Dragged throughout with Ivan and Tyler; though the dialogue was cheesy, it was still amusing. Smokescreen and Wrench make for something almost "Baboo and Squat" and was interesting to listen to. The "Serpents Transformation" probably made more sense in Kyoryuger than it did here, but the saving grace was definitely the original Megazord footage and Sledge having to blow-up his own bomb. Leagues ahead of Super Megaforce! Not terrible, and I do want a Smokescreen figure now!
P.S.: That "...Son of a Washing Machine" was priceless!
P.P.S.: Pair this Smokescreen with the Transformers incarnations and the joke is rich if you're fans of both!

Dino Charge Megazord Ptera-Stego-Tricera formation is the single most unimaginative name I could possible dream of. I'm also getting a little tired of hearing Gosei each and every time the Rangers do anything. Insert batteries, call the zords, combine the zords, blow their nose. Whatever they do that same emotionless deep voice. It has no character. The voice of the original Megazord "Megazord Sequence has been Activated!" That had some damned character. This.. this just doesn't.
In the end though those are minor nitpicks, really. Except the name thing. I really hope they do more imaginative names for things going forward.
I enjoyed this episode. The classic the two heroes don't get along until they realize how alike they are trope. Nice seeing Kendell get more screen time too. Even if just in short bursts here and there. I wish Keeper was in more episodes, but that suit can't be cheap to haul out. So it's understandable. Loving they kept the Deboss symbol on the bomb. I guess that ends up being the symbol for Sledge's army? I can live with that.
What they really need to do is decide what the heck Gold Ranger pilots. The charger says Pteranodon, yet he keeps calling it Pterodactyl. And I swear once he even called it a Pteranodon. They aren't interchangeable animals, they were two completely different dinosaurs.
All in all it was a solid episode. Good character building. Nice seeing the combined form appear even if the name is far to long.

I really liked it. My only complaint is the resolution of the Tyler/Ivan rivalry was pretty weak, but the rivalry was pretty friendly and silly to begin with. I loved the way the other rangers reacted to it, like it was more annoying than problematic.
In fact, I love the way all of these actors react to what's happening in the scenes. Tyler's reactions to Ivan were spectacular, Shelby always seems really engaged in what's happening, Koda's background behavior is always a riot, etc.
One thing I particularly enjoyed, for whatever reason, was the bit of character insight we got with Kendall. I loved that we got to see how anxious and bad she was with the kids. Dunno why I thought that was great, but it was.
