It’s here! It’s Part 02 of the Talkin Ranger Toku Command at the Nation Summer Crossover Special! Featuring a line-up of hosts (Chris, Jordan, Tom, Eric, Zach, AP) from two podcasts (Talkin Toku and Ranger Command), the group gets together to discuss the pro’s and the con’s to Japanese Tokusatsu, specifically Super Sentai in comparison to Power Rangers (it was deemed prior to recording that comparing Kamen Rider or Garo to Power Rangers would be a bit unfair).
But before you do ANYTHING ELSE – CLICK HERE to listen to Part 01 of the crossover, only at RangerCommand.com!
The dramatic, wonderfully acted and Oscar-deserving performances, comes to its epic conclusion! Be sure to listen all the way to the end to get to that epic conclusion! And included for your lol’ing pleasure are BLOOPERS! Granted, there were so many we went with the ones centered mostly on the scripted dramatic story – we have a ton to use in a future “bloopers” episode, which we will announce at a much later date.
Some of the topics we touch on – Premium Bandai is planning to release older Super Sentai merchandise in new packages (as well as some new merchandise). Like everyone else in the world – we speculate. We also discuss some of the new S.H. Figuarts that were revealed – Akarenger, Biorider, Kachidoki Arms. We also talk about Kamen Rider Malus, Kamen Rider Gaim Kiwami Arms, and even make predictions about Kamen Rider Drive, the next installment of Kamen Rider.
Please leave us comments and let us know what you think! Did you like this whole crossover? Did you like the dramatic acting (it was REALLY good, we know). Do you want to see more of it later in the future? Sound off! Post here in this thread, or hit us up on our social media.

Our titles are getting worse than the annual rider team ups

Awesome disscussion, but can we just get a whole episode of bloopers? Im sure the comedy would be worth the randomness

So much bias against Western Toku LOL. Loved the fun parts of the episodes but you guys unfairly bashed the shit out of PR.
There's a lot of uncontrollable factors that Japan has that gives them the edge that you guys seem to chock up to just them being better. The fact that the country is smaller gives them the edge in toy release synchronization with the show debut and previous actor cameos(I.E. flying out to Tokyo for a day.). Also, Japan has this thing where working to death is the norm, so that's why you get so much content in a series that lasts a year and get a new one so quickly compared to U.S. toku.
Now, am I defending the fact that new PR has 20 episodes seasons? Fuck no. I think 40 episodes per season is the perfect amount for not exhausting the production by American standards.
Also, where was AP? I know she isn't into that kind of toku but Jesus, I think she needed to break up the monotony in some parts.
TokuChris says
As soon as the scripted parts were done recording she split. You'd have to ask her why. Probably from having zero interest in the topic is my guess
There is a definite culture difference that is apparent in a Japanese show vs an American show which is why we came down to a final conclusion that it's unfair to compare the two. Japan has a formula that works there and America has one that works here.
I think the biggest complaint that we had and maybe poorly expressed was a feeling of a lack if effort on the Power Rangers side. It truly feels like they take the same basic plot keep the same character tropes and spend as little money as possible and fans still accept it and even defend it as great. We just want a better product television wise. Toy wise we will never win the battle.
Den-O says
I feel like I pretty much expressed what I needed to
If Power Rangers was a better product, as I've said on countless occasions, then I'd have a more positive opinion of it. As it stands it simply does not compare to it's source material any longer. I think that's a pretty fair assessment especially in light of the last 4 years of incoherent nonsense the brand has produced.
Sunred says
I miss the old days when the toys were the same minus a few details from Japan such as stickers.
