As we continue to look at all the news and events from Power Morphicon 5, easily the biggest reveal (toy-wise) was that of the Legacy Power Sword. That’s right – Bandai America has figured out a way to package a 1:1 scale sword in a box and to have a retailer sell it as such. And that is AWESOME! Check out all the high res Power Morphicon 5 – Legacy Power Sword Images by clicking the title of the story.
On top of that, Bandai America answered a few of our questions (and other fan’s questions) about the Legacy Power Sword and we have those statements here for you as well.
- Planned to ship in one piece, no assembly required (giant long box)
- Not ready to set a price as of yet
- If it sells well, they’d love to do the other Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ Power Weapons
- “No comment” when asked if it was designed with foresight of possible combining in the future
- Sounds and electronics included (prototype had buttons on side of handle, we missed that in photographs, our apologies)
Do you plan to grab the new Legacy Power Sword when it’s released? Sound off in our discussion thread!

Sure this is an old question, but is the blade metal or plastic? If metal, how did they get around U.S. Safety Standards?
P.S.: For that matter, how did they get around the "no orange cap" on the Blade Blaster?
Neoblackdragon says
It most certainly is not metal. You can easily tell by the close ups it's not metal. It will likely just be the exact same material as the Legacy Saba sword.
First and foremost the thing would be very heavy and expensive. Then of course safety standards. I'm just 98% sir that making the blade metal was never ever an option.
The Blade Blaster?
You need the orange cap for realistic looking guns. No one would think these bright red and white things are hand guns. Basically it's form and overall color is your orange cap. It looks like a fictional space gun so no issue there.

Them being excited to make more weapons should this sell well, but "No comment" on whether it can combine, along with the images makes it seem like they didn't really intend for them to do so.
I'm sure it can easily be alleviated (Such as a special clip that comes with the axe that can clip onto the sword's handle or something, dunno).

Didn't expect that one but it does look great, cant wait to see the price.

Judging by how much the Dragon Dagger was, and Saba, my guess is this will be somewhere north of that. Maybe around 150-200? Maybe more if that blade is resin like it looks or high-grade plastic. Still. I want it.
