Previously speculated but now confirmed, Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger Season 2 will only run for 13 episodes. Listings have just gone up at CD Japan for the Blu-Ray release of the series. The description for volume 4 sadly confirms that much like Akibaranger Season 1 there will only be 13 episodes.
However don’t be too sad. Season 1 ran for 13 episodes but garnered love from fans all over the world, the series was a commercial and critical success. Fans demanded more and the show returned for it’s triumphant 2nd Season , which is already shaping up to be the same kind of success. In this writer’s (and fan’s) opinion this series may continue this formula if there are further installments after this year. It’s been successful doing so thus far, so why change things up now?

I sincerly hope it does come back yearly. For the fans who love it, sure. And also because look at all the Figuarts we're getting because of that show. So it serves reason that the longer it's on, the more we get.
But seriously when else would they have released Deka, Bouken, Jetman, Dai, or Zyu? sure we might still be getting the Zyurangers thanks to 20th PR, but we might still be waitin on the others if we didnt have Akibaranger we would never have awesome figures that make my wallet cry in pain from me never keepin money in it
This was expected, and I'm perfectly okay with it. This is the kind of show that could easily get stale with 50 episode runs, so short seasons annually is a good way of making sure it stays fresh.
13 episodes is about right. I love the humor and silliness but it can get old fast. Best to have short runs and make it fresh and exciting than double that number and run out of ideas.
A show like Akibaranger needs to be 13 episodes, it's the perfect ammount.
With the release of the limited Akiba Red vinyl figure "only", they will probably swap out blue and yellow actresses in every season if they are going to make more.
awesome this show rocks and need to stay 13 i wonder if we might get the chance of a movie or special if the success stay as it is. and it thanks to season 2 i end up having the first time ever the most busyist months of my collecting Currier
