Godzilla VS FEMA

Posted on May 8, 2013 at 12:39 am by Shin Densetsu under Godzilla

Ain’t It Cool News has posted a new image of FEMA on the set of Godzilla in Vancouver, Canada! More info:
Hey folks, Harry here… with FEMA having a presence in Legendary’s

GODZILLA – I assume we can be guaranteed of an American landfall… even if this FEMA set is actually in Vancouver, where the Godzilla crew is busily making this recovery center. Right now – I’m just imagining a giant Godzilla foot stomping through the arena top and smashing all the injured and recovering folks below. But then, I’ve probably seen GODZILLA VS BAMBI a few too many times! Thanks to our mysterious spy, known only as JEFF

Can FEMA cope with the catastrophic epitome of destruction known as Godzilla? 1 more year to find out!

I'm going to refrain from posting due to my lack of control of making a politcal joke.

And I will respond with this not-political-joke. In fact it's more of an observation.

Do relief services, military forces or any other such things exist in Toku?
Aside from tanks and jets that try and fail to shoot down Kaiju?

And I suppose to know what FEMA stands for?

Very good question. in Sentai alone atleast two buildings go down an episode.

Wait, that FEMA? Okay, not sure what that has to do with Canada, but whatever. Not like I care about Godzilla.

You don't care about Godzilla but are replying in this thread. You express a query related to the title, but don't read far enough to understand that it's a set portraying FEMA responding to Godzilla's (or another monster's) destruction.

You know, like any other disaster on American soil?

You almost never see it in modern Super Sentai, little more in Kamen Rider, but in daikaiju shows and films, they're definitely portrayed, sometimes integral to the story.

Which is ironic. You need them more after a giant robot fight than you do after two guys fist fight.

True, but that's because of the differing stories that take place in Kamen Rider and Super Sentai. In the human-sized fight scenes where it comes up, the sentai team itself takes the role to check on the injured or direct civilians away from the monster, and the mecha fight is the conclusion to the danger posed by the monster of the week, where it's assumed all the otherwise obvious things are taken care of offscreen.
