Red really looks the best out of this set. That ruby red looks gorgeous.
A friend of mine is going to SDCC, so with luck I should have this set.

The owner of a local comic shop is going to SDCC so he is going to pick me up the 5 pack set. He said it will cost me about $270 because of tax and he is having everything shipped to him, plus a fee for picking it up for me (which is fair), but he said I don't have to pay him until he is handing me the set, so I'm cool with that. As such, I should have this set in two weeks.
Now I'll have to buy Genta.

The more I see of this set (even if it's the same shots) the more I like it.

The metallic Figuarts really don't look as good as the Japan releases. I know in the show the suits (not the helmets, though) had a bit of a metallic shine, but it really didn't have the same effect as the Figuarts and to me the normal just look far more accurate. I was worried about regretting buying the Japan releases when this was announced, but I really don't. The Japan releases are definitely superior and not that much more expensive, I got all at once ShinkenGold, ShinkenBlue, ShinkenPink, ShinkenYellow and ShinkenGreen for about $230 inc postage a few months back, be patient and you can get them at that price too. It also has the advantage of having ShinkenGold looking better with them and normal ShinkenRed Hyper ShinkenRed, Juuzo and Princess ShinkenRed actually matching with the set.
Dr Kain says
To be quite honest Gaga, if I hadn't seen them in person, I would have agreed. But after I saw them in person at AX, they looked quote awesome. They will stand out a little, especially with red being regular, but I really liked the pink and green metallic paint when I was looking at them. I thought that looked far better than the pictures I have seen of the regular releases.
