When the space colony Terra Venture left Earth in search of a new home, Kendrix was aboard as one of the lead science officers. She develops a quick bond with stowaway Leo. When a portal opens up on the moon to the planet Mirinoi, Kendrix goes through with Mike, and the events that follow lead to her becoming the Lost Galaxy Pink Ranger!

However, the evil Trakeena eventually discovers the data discs that contain the villainous remains of the Psycho Rangers, evil replicas of the In Space Power Rangers team, and sends them after the Power Rangers of the Lost Galaxy. Kendrix and the others are saved by the Power Rangers In Space, however Psycho Pink isn't destroyed - and vows revenge on the two Pink Rangers.

Cassie, the In Space Pink Ranger, has her morpher stabbed by the evil Savage Sword - if it erupts, it'll destroy everything around it. Knowing she was the only one who could save the colony, Kendrix sacrifices her own life to stop the chain reaction, saving Terra Venture as well as her friends. As the smoke clears, Kendrix is gone ... and the Pink Quasar Saber, the source of her powers, shoots away through the galaxy.

However, Kendrix remains with the team in spirit, always willing to guide them when they need it the most. Karone, sister of Andros (the Red Ranger of Power Rangers In Space), tracks down the Pink Quasar Saber and, with Kendrix's guiding hand, becomes the new Pink Ranger of the Power Rangers Lost Galaxy.

Once Trakeena is destroyed and Mirinoi returned to normal, Kendrix is revived by an unknown force. It is then that Karone returns the powers to her. Kendrix would appear in the team-up episode with the Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue.

Valerie Vernon has the distinct honor of playing the only Power Ranger to die in the series (though it is never stated she "died" on screen, only that she's "gone"). The reason for her leaving the show was because she was diagnosed with leukemia and needed to undergo immediate treatment. She made a full recovery and was able to return for the show's finale, as well as the team-up episode in the next year's series. The original story had her character Kendrix becoming romantically involved with the Red Ranger Leo, but the story was dropped. She was originally to be replaced with Patricia Ja Lee, who played Cassie the Pink Ranger from Power Rangers In Space. Apparent contract disputes stopped this from happening, and only a few scenes of an episode were apparently ever recorded. It was then that Melody Perkins, who played Karone, was called in to take over the role of Pink Ranger.

Valerie was born in California and continues to live there now. No longer acting, she now owns an interior design company. She was invited to return for the upcoming cameo in Power Rangers Super Megaforce, but declined due to not having enough notice. Whether intentional or not, Melody Perkins will return for Power Rangers Super Megaforce and play the role of Karone, the Pink Ranger of the Power Rangers Lost Galaxy.

I had a big crush on her back when lost galaxy was on.
But i have never liked how we were never told how she came back from the dead. They needed a story for that like Time travel or somthing.

Gotta love the spunky, smart girl with the "brainy specs." Kendrix was a fun character, and Vernon was a pleasure to have on the show for the time that she was healthy. I was sad to see her go because of her leukemia. At the time, the fandom was very active in trying to raise awareness about the disease and I ever remember a fundraising drive at one point. I was very happy to see her return both for her cameo at the end of LG as well as the team-up episode from LSR.
