NECA Pacific Rim Series 3 – Cherno Alpha? Also More 18" Figures Under Consideration

Posted on July 30, 2013 at 2:02 pm by Shin Densetsu under General Tokusatsu News

This past weekend, someone(BaronButcher) asked NECA on Twitter about figures of the Jaegers Cherno Alpha, Coyote Tango and Trespasser. NECA’s response?

planning series 3 now

In addition, Clay_Pruitt asked about an 18″ Striker Eureka and NECA replied:

Maybe. Looking at more 18″ currently

So there you have it. Judging from the comments here since Pacific Rim debuted, a lot of you want a 7″ Cherno Alpha. Would you like a 18″ Striker Eureka too? How about other Kaiju and Jaegers? Discuss!

Now I've seen the movie, I dunno.

Gipsy was fairly uninteresting visually, it was how it fought that made it fun, but you can't really reenact that through a figure no matter the size. The other three Jaegers were to all extensive purposes pointless, minus needing to die to raise the stakes or have a dramatic moment and although the designs were cool I'm not sure I care for them enough to slam down the money on them, especially considering right now that the line isn't meant to be very good.

The Kaiju on the other hand are something I am much more interested in shitty articulation or not, more out of principle, because you just don't get toys like that very often. I hope they get 18" versions.

I feel like they highly underestimated how much we'd want toys of this movie...

Hopefully Japanese toy producers will sit up & take notice when Pacific Rim comes out there next month.
