Sneak Peak at Godzilla 2014 Toy Assortments

Posted on October 20, 2013 at 11:04 am by Chris under Godzilla

The Legendary Godzilla film coming next summer has many, many kaiju fans excited, and both kids and kids-at-heart alike are almost as eager for the new toys that will come of Godzilla 2014 and his unnamed new foes.

Earlier today, courtesy of online store Urban Collector, we now know a little more about the main toyline coming next year, to be released by Bandai America. Four different preorders are currently known of assortments (cases) of Godzilla products, with a continuation of the Chibi Figure line as two-packs, a new Deluxe action figure price point, smaller gimmicky action figures, and the return of a smaller style playset similar to the Crumble Zone released many years ago.

Do note that no pictures of the lines are currently available and that there are spoilers relating to Godzilla’s opponents given in these descriptions. Read on to learn more!

Godzilla 2014 Movie Deluxe Attack & Roar Action Figure Asst - $83.99

Figure measures approximately 10' tall, and features authentic sounds and 'atomic breath' action. Open box packaging.
Depending on the number of figures per case, this figure should retail for $20.99 - 27.99. If the prior Bluefin interview at NYCC wasn't confirmation enough, this figure shows that Godzilla 2014 definitely retains his classic atomic breath.

Godzilla 2014 Movie Fighting Action Figure Asst - $35.99

Open box packaging.
At so inexpensive a price, we're probably looking at $8.99 figures around six inches tall? Pure speculation there. Nice to know that Bandai wasn't going to rely on rotocast vinyls for the majority of this toyline.

Godzilla 2014 Movie Deluxe Destruction Pack Case - $99.99

Set includes two kaiju, plus three (3) destructible buildings & bridge, and five (5) military vehicles. Window box packaging.
Retail price for these Crumble Zone-like sets ought to be around $24.99. Two of Godzilla's latest monster foes are known as "Muto", with at least one being described as having eight legs. Note the error in listing the size of this Muto figure as 3.5 feet, which ought to be inches instead. Obviously.

    Godzilla 2014 Movie Chibi Figure 2-Pack Asst - $49.99

These new 2014 movie-based Chibis are being sold at least in two-packs, with two different Muto creatures featured. Whatever those are! The (relatively) tiny airport bug? The multi-legged dead reptile seen in the leaked mood piece? Something entirely unseen?

To the mysterious forces that decide which lines are brought here and which aren't, please let me have this, you already screwed me with Dragon Knight. Pretty please.

Mutos, probably a shortening of Mutants?

Some interesting listings. If the fighting figure assortment turns out to be 6" tall figures, I might get one of those to pose with my PR retrofire figures. The 10" tall figure actually sounds like it might be interesting. If it looks good for it's price I might get it. Though I'm curious to see how the inevitable other large figures turn out. Especially that one NECA is suposedly doing. The chibi figure 2-packs will be tempting too.

That would be interesting, "Mutos" doesn't lead to many meaningful results in google:
In the hunger games it means mutants, it's also a sardinian dance (sos mutos) and a surname.

    Thanks for the info, Baltan!

The Chibis will be a pick up for me for sure, as I have a good chunk of the current line of those, and I enjoy SD Goji and friends in general. Depending on how it looks, the Deluxe figure might be worthwhile, but I am hoping that the smaller, gimmick ones are display worth because it would work better with both my budget and my shelf space. Of course knowing me I'll probably get something in each size!

The enemy Mutos sound interesting; like others in the thread, I am leaning towards a bastardization of "Mutants." Perhaps the atomic incident that awakens Godzilla will create these other monsters in it's wake? Cliched, yes, but I'd be more than happy with an old school story like that.

Good to know, an insider that works on the Toho Kingdom website informed that Jakks Pacific is currently "working" with Toho Kingdom on the upcoming 31" figure.
So take that as you will.
Hopefully they are getting some fan input & maybe won't limit themselves to the $30 price point like the current barely articulated 31" Superman & Darth Vader figures out now.
