Ressha Sentai ToQGer Mini-Pla ToQOh Gallery and Video Review

Posted on April 12, 2014 at 1:28 am by Chris under Super Sentai

Many collectors just don’t simply have the green in their wallets to be able to afford all the cool stuff that comes out. And some of us simply don’t like various things because of the lack of articulation or just how something looks. When it comes to Bandai of Japan DX Mechas, sometimes articulation is sacrificed for playability and a gimmick. Such would appear to be the case with the DX ToQOh, where many collectors were just turned off by an awkward standing robot that has very limited articulation. If you’re one of those collectors who passed on that figure because of those reasons, then the Mini-Pla ToQOh just might be what you’re looking for.

Thanks to photo contributor MoonBaseTom, we have a number of high-resolution galleries of this mini figure for you to look at. Featuring nearly identical transformations to the full size toy, this figure should normally cost you roughly $25 before shipping for a set – though expect prices to go up as the item goes out of stock and is phased out of assortments. Click on the discussion link to be taken to the thread to see all the great images!

Site contributor baltmatrix also did a video review of this figure, so if you’d like to see it in action we have you covered there as well! Be sure to subscribe to baltmatrix’s YouTube channel so you can stay up to date on all these great figures and toys coming out for various franchises. I am an owner of this figure and I cannot recommend it enough – especially if you’re a fan of model kits or have been a lifelong Gundam builder and never ventured outside that realm. You will not suffer any buyer’s remorse on this item – except for the stickers. They continue to become a pain release after release.

So are you sold yet? Join in the discussion of this awesome Mini-Pla set! Be sure to get your orders in for the DiselOh assortment, which just had orders go live across various online important stores today!

Grab your boarding passes. It's the first mini pla offerings from Resha Sentai ToQger and it's pretty sweat.

Almost a perfect mini replica of the DX toy, the mini pla ToQOh goes one step farther by adding a mini pla first, optinal articulation! You can combine the Resha kits together to form a DX style apperence, or you can separate the Red Green and Blue Resha, and reassemble them to give the kit waist and hip articulation. It's simple but brilliant.

Aside from the articulation gimmick, the resha kits have a few more tricks. Green and Blue lock on with simple round peg but they have a long groove on their sides. This groove lines up with a track on the Red Resha, and keeps the Green and Blue from getting misaligned and locks them into place quite well. All the trains can detach from their cars, leaving them as tiny little replicas of the DX. The whole kit can combine as a bunch of trains, then stand up just like the big one. It's truly a wonderful little kit.

Very nice! The alternate transformation bit with the hips to support articulation is pretty ingenious. I'm impressed it managed to keep so much playability from the DX toy.

The hip change is brilliant! I hope they do similar gimmicks on future mini pla. Diesel Oh im looking at you.

I guess I'll have to disagree on that. As a sword it is proportionally larger and, well, more like a sword, but it compromises the gun form and doesn't look quite as good stuck on the Red Ressha.

However, I guess if the sword form is the only thing you're after, the larger size is more befitting.

What's wrong with the gun mode?
And here I thought the sword looked bad because one side was super hollow...

The blade/barrel is a bit too long for the gun mode. Not really proportionate for a one-handed gun, in my opinion.

I'm just finishing painting mine up at the moment (just got the Red Ressha left to do), absolutely love this guy. The build is incredibly simple but the combo is just so much fun.
