Let’s Watch Wednesdays Week 18 Den-O 49, Climax Deka, & Final Countdown!

Posted on October 15, 2014 at 6:53 pm by Den-O under Kamen Rider, TokuNation, TokuNation Spotlights

This is the end folks! The Kamen Rider Den-O TV Series ends here! But don’t let that stop you, we’ve got 1 episode to view this week and 2 movies!

All of time is at stake and the child of Airi & Yuuto is revealed! Den-O, Zeronos, Momtaros, Urataros, Kintaros, Deneb, Hana, Naomi, and even Sieg! Everyone is here for the end. It’s all come down to this, the Imagin must destroy the future they’ve come from to save the world that’s meant to be. Can they survive?!

Climax Deka is here! With the battle against Kai over, Team Den-Liner has taken on the task of policing time and destroying rogue Imagin. But one, Negataros, will use the power of Nega Den-O and create his own evil organization. The only way to stop him? Team up with the one and only Kamen Rider Kiva!

And, it’s the Final Countdown. Two new trains of time have appeared! The Ghost Train controlled by the evil Kamen Rider Yuuki and, New Den-Liner?! The hero of a future 50 years from now and Ryutaro’s grandson, Kamen Rider New Den-O,  arrives with his Imagin Teddy to protect the present. An unprecedented team-up of Den-O and the Imagin is at hand for the final explosive battle!

But that isn’t even the end! We’ll be back next week with another trip down memory lane with a Den-O movie! Den-O & Decade Neo Generations: Onigashima Warship! Following that will be the FINAL week of Den-O on Let’s Watch Wednesdays with the Chou Den-O Trilogy of movies!

    The end is here!
The entire Den-Liner crew will combine their powers to defeat Kai!

Negataros evil organization is taking shape,
Den-O, Zeronos, and Kamen Rider Kiva have something to say about that!

    New Den-O (& Den-Liner) from the future?
Every story comes to an end....

    But not Den-O!
We'll be back next week with more!

    So Le'ts Watch:
    Kamen Rider Den-O Episode 49
Kamen Rider Den-O & Kiva Climax Deka
Saraba Kamen Rider Den-O: Final Countdown!

Next week it's Den-O & Decade the Onigashima Warship!

Man, that was rushed. For a series that got an extra episode above the normal order, there was a lot of stuff that felt crammed into this one. When exactly did Ryuutaros get scared to fight? When the hell did Ryoutarou figure out all that stuff about Hana? It really felt like we missed some stuff here - not Kuuga vs. Daguva round 1 bad, but it really does seem like part of the story was skipped over.

Honestly, I think Den-O has a pretty weak ending overall. The last fight is pretty anticlimactic, Kai just kind of peters out as a villain, and the show never bothers properly explaining anything about what exactly is up with Airi and Sakurai. It's a really pity that such a strong show ends on such a bum note.

    Well, "ends."

Not sure if I'm going to rewatch all of the movies right now. It's harder to budget those into my schedule, especially multiple ones in a week. I'll at least mention some of my thoughts on them here:

Climax Deka: Our first proper Heisei era Rider crossover. Technically. It's pretty obvious that the writers had only seen the first couple episodes of Kiva and had no idea what to do with Wataru (unlike Decade's writers, who had seen all the episodes and had no idea what to do with Wataru).

Final Countdown: This is clearly the point in the franchise where Takeru Satoh checked out. Not just because it's obviously his last appearance, but even in the film he feels like an afterthought. Good debut for Kotaro and Teddy, though. Also, for anyone who wondered when the Denliner would finally go to the future: here you go. Not really worth the wait, was it?

Funny, I just started Den-o. I am on 21. It's okay, but not great. Ryou is way too much of a wimp and kinda pathetic sounding. But that is just me.

    I missed Adult Hana.
But I do like how they pulled together an ending out of this. Not terrible, but not my favorite ending of all the Rider series I've watched.

    New Den-O makes....very little sense.

Him being from the future doesn't make sense? Or what exactly?
