That was unexpected!
For a week now Power Rangers has hyped up tonight’s extended episode of “The Legendary Battle” pretty heavy across social media and even on television. And TokuNation was there to live-tweet the whole 75 minutes to you! Here’s a recap of the entire episode, which included “The Wrath” as part of the 75 minutes.
- 75 minutes long with commercials
- “The Wrath” featured extended scenes
- Longer “New Powers” fight scene
- Extended Mr. Burley and Ernie scenes
- Extra dialogue for Levira
- Extended scene where Tommy saves a boy from a falling car
- Extra dialogue before the Power Rangers fight the last general in the last episode
- A longer battle with the X-Borgs while fighting the general
- Silver Ranger turns in to Mighty Morphin Green Ranger and gives the Dragon Shield to Red Ranger, who wears it as he transforms in to the Mighty Morphin Red Ranger
- An entirely new scene where the Power Rangers use all their Legendary Ranger Modes to fight Emperor Mavro
- A helmetless morph scene (just like in Gokaiger for those familiar with the Super Sentai version)
- Extra footage of the Legendary Rangers putting on their helmets
- Dialogue for Karone the Lost Galaxy Pink Ranger as she says “I love being a Power Ranger” as her face morphs in to her villain form of Astronema
So there you have it. We probably missed an item or two, especially during “The Wrath” only because we didn’t bother to re-watch it before this special extended edition aired. So now it comes down to the big question – was this finale worth it? In this writer’s humble opinion – yes, it was. It felt like we got a fitting end to Emperor Mavro and any dialogue added for our Legendary Rangers is a win. But does it correct the flaws with Power Rangers Super Megaforce? That one we’ll leave up to you.
Linked to this news post is a new discussion thread and a new poll for this extended episode. Please take a moment to vote on it and share your thoughts. This episode will be available online in a few hours at Nick.com!

So, I haven't watched Super Megaforce since episode 1. I didn't watch the 1st airing of this episode. So I saw this....
And I liked it. Yes, the New Powers stuff is still stupid, but most of the cameos gave me more feels than I expected to get from it. Even Tommy. But holy crap that Karone moment. I was bummed we got no Kendrix explanation, but that moment made me squee in front of my TV.

I won't lie - I voted Legendary. This is what a finale should be. It almost feels like Saban saw the final product, agreed that it was less than worthy of being a finale, and went back and added things to really flesh it out.
This doesn't redeem Super Megaforce to me for what it could (and maybe should) have been versus what we got. But this does take some of the bitter taste out of my mouth.

Voted super mega because this was WAY better then the original ending. The added scenes helped it out a lot.

I really loved that Karona throw back moment, that was honestly a nice touch they didn't had to add.

I really enjoyed the Mavro extended scene and seeing red ranger with dragon shield. I wish there was some more footage of the legendary battle itself. I kept seeing a picture of Tommy giving Mile (samurai green) his shield on the Internet before the episode aired, but that never happened. I would have loved to see the older Rangers show up earlier when they were fighting the general or have a scene where they fight some xborgs and then morph.
But over all pretty cool, looking forward to Dino Charge

THIS is how the rest of the season should have been done. We got the final Mavro fight. Armored MMPR Red. An Astronema reference. And I can die happy knowing that there was at least ONE Lightspeed Rescue Legendary Morph.
I hate myself for saying this, but that was a super mega win.

I am totally confused about the bit with Karone. Why would they show her as a villain as a seemingly positive thing?? The nod's cool, but based on the short line given in the news article (yeah I forgot to watch this myself...), how it was done doesn't make sense to me.
Den-O says
It's something of an improvement, but not nearly enough to redeem the show itself. It serves as a much better, albeit hastily slapped together, end to the series than the original airing version.
But seriously they threw this together out of footage they already had and some newly recorded ADR just in the last 2 weeks. Yet They hadn't finalized the original airing version in post until earlier this summer? How does that even happen?
