Lost on an expedition years ago, the Aqua Ranger has reappeared and joined the Power Rangers Dino Charge! Without spoiling any more about the actual character who is the Aqua Ranger, we've decided that since he debuts on this Saturday's episode of Power Rangers Dino Supercharge, what better way than to go ahead and throw up the gallery and review!?
Bear with us because if you own a figure of Power Rangers Dino Charge ... well, you've already had this one, just in different colors and a different helmet.
On to the review which will be short because we've done this 5 times already!
The Figure
The standard 13 points of articulation for the Ranger figures continues, albeit now in "Aqua" colors, a new helmet, and a new paint job on the patch! But seriously - he's the same figure you've already purchased with Red, Blue, Black, Green, and Graphite. The only difference is, in my opinion, that the colors really pop with this guy. I don't know why, but these light blue/teal colors just really seem to pop on Bandai America toys. I dig it. Otherwise, nothing new on the figure.
The Accessories
As per standard, the figure comes with the Dino Charge Morpher and the Dino Saber accessories. Both are made of the flimsy "will bend if applied with ANY pressure or ANY heat" plastic. It's the downside to Bandai America's accessories, but you can't help but appreciate the attention to detail on the molding ... now if they'd simply cast them in harder plastic and paint them. Argh!!
The Good
The Bad
The Overall Conclusion
I really like the Aqua Ranger figure. But to be bluntly honest - unless you're collecting the whole team, you aren't missing much with this guy. He's fun to look at, he pops when next to the others, but he's the exact same mold albeit a different head and some new paint. So if you're in to buying the ENTIRE lineup, then go for it. But if you're only picking and choosing favorites based on looks or how they are on the show, wait and see is your best approach.
