Convention season is upon us once again! New York Comic Con officially opens tomorrow, and Saban Brands has decided to kick things off by announcing their plans for the TWENTY-FIFTH anniversary of Power Rangers! Yes, August 28 2018 will officially make 25 YEARS since five teenagers with attitude changed childrens’ entertainment forever.
Here are a few of the ways Saban plans to celebrate in 2018:
*An anniversary episode is currently scheduled to air during the Summer run of Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel!
*A new national Power Rangers LIVE TOUR is on the way, thanks to a partnership with Red Light Management and Creative Artists Agency. This will also lead to special interactive escape rooms & virtual reality centers.
*Power Rangers will soon have a special interactive role-play video game to be streamed LIVE on Twitch.TV’s gaming channel Hyper RPG.
*Bandai will be releasing a special collectors’ line, Top 25 For The 25th featuring a wide array of merchandise- supported by mobile game studio nWay (makers of Power Rangers: Legacy Wars) and Power Rangers comic publisher Boom! Studios!
The Power Rangers 25th Anniversary campaign- officially subtitled You’ve Got The Power! kicks off in January 2018! Stay tuned to TokuNation as we keep you up to date on this remarkable milestone celebration!
Here's what we have to look forward to in 2018:
•A highly anticipated national live tour in partnership with Red Light Management and Creative Artists Agency (CAA) will be an epic, one-of-a-kind and interactive theatre production. More details, along with pre-sale tickets, will be announced in early October.
•Power Rangers will soon be the first licensed property with an official interactive role playing game streaming live on Hyper RPG, an industry leading channel on Twitch, the world’s leading social video platform and community.
•Interactive experiences with new, game-changing brand partners to create Power Rangers escape rooms and virtual reality centers as well as learning and physical development opportunities for kids and much more.
•The unveiling of the “Top 25 for the 25th” collection which will feature must-have, official anniversary items for collectors of all ages from notable partners including toy partner Bandai, the chart-topping mobile game Power Rangers: Legacy Wars from nWay and record-breaking Power Rangers comics from BOOM! Studios, amongst others.
•A morphinominal celebration on the brand’s anniversary date, August 28, 2018.
Hopefully one of those 25 items is the Shogun Megazord though we'll probably just get a reissue of the Megazord but with a special 25th anniversary sticker on the box.
Wait, summer run? Not early fall? Also, the words “interactive role playing Power Rangers game immediately made me think of Chroma Squad. And that game rocked, so I wouldn’t mind if they made something like that.
Sounds kind of lame. Hopefully this is just the start of what is planned.

My fingers are crossed for Figuarts reissues, and a Dino Megazord that's either the original mold or a larger scale. Imagine a legacy Megazord that's twice the size!!! What ever happened to that Jakks big fig Megazord? That was going to be 30 inches tall.
I am at a loss. 25 items to celebrate 25th anniversary....I assume it will be cards, and pencils, and stickers...I have low expectations at this point.
I halfway expect something absurd like individually sold Legacy Dinozords. The 2010 mold ones, not the articulated ones.
I feel very blasé about all of this. Maybe comics will give me something to enjoy.
