Power Rangers Celebrates 25th Anniversary with Top 25 for the 25th

Posted on January 25, 2018 at 5:24 pm by Chris under Power Rangers

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the Power Rangers. In celebration of this historic milestone for the Power Rangers, Saban Brands in partnership with Bandai America, nWay, BOOM! Studios, and Imaginext, plan to reveal their Top 25 for the 25th, a new segment that will celebrate the Top 25 items releasing this year for the 25th Anniversary of the Power Rangers.

The first showcase is none other than the recent release of the iconic auto-morphin figures first released with the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers toy line. Available now at retailers are the Mighty Morphin Red Ranger, Pink Ranger, and Green Ranger. Also announced today is that the Blue Ranger, Black Ranger, and Yellow Ranger will be available to purchase this fall.

On top of that – RangerNation.com has been updated to be a brand new website! There’s an interactive museum with facts about each season of Power Rangers, a section where you can ask Zordon a question, morph back to the Internet circa 1993, and of course the 25 for the 25th feature.

Today, Power Rangers released a new feature on RangerNation.com (which has been redone) called "25 for the 25th". They will showcase product that they consider to be in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Power Rangers.

For January, they look at the auto-morphin Power Rangers recently released to stores. These figures are rebuilt versions of the original toys from the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers toy line.

They're straight reissues of the 90s figures. They were pretty bad back when they originally came out. I have no idea why they thought anyone would actually want those things again.

They're kind of the "G1 Power Rangers figures" (think G1 Transformers). This is like when Hasbro did their reissues years ago at Toys'R'Us. They appeal to casuals and possibly some hardcore fans that didn't want to scour eBay for decent quality originals.

I want them, but the price tho. Remember, back in the day, they were toys to be played with. I had fun morphing then through the command center’s morphing grid.

Don't these reissues human heads turn as well? The originals didn't.

Yeah I don't remember the originals having head turn. My understanding is these are as perfect reproductions of the originals as possible. They might be the first figures I get duplicates of for in-box display. Those are the figures I remember most from MMPR so having a full s1 team is big for me. I'm curious what they'll do for the rest of the 25th. I want SHF reissues but I won't get my hopes up. Rebuilding my confidence in the legacy figures would be huge honestly.

2 for the 25th is the BOOM! Studios Artist Tribute book.

3 for the 25th is the Series 06 of Legacy Power Rangers figures featuring Psycho Red, Psycho Blue, Psycho Black, and Dino Thunder White Rangers.
