SSSS.Gridman Season 2 In The Works?

ACCESS FLASH!

If your among those clamoring for more of Studio Trigger’s hit SSSS.Gridman anime, we have good news for you. This comes straight from the SSSS.Gridman account, who teased that a 2nd season might’ve already entered production.

At the moment, not much else is known about this potential 2nd showing other a date that was given along with the image of May 26th, 2019. This could be a possible start date, which would put SSSS.Gridman Season 2 in the running for the summer. 

Either way, be sure to tune back into Tokunation as the date draws near, and we’ll bring you the updates as it becomes available.

 

UPDATE:

New information has just recently come to our attention since publishing this article: the tweet and image in question is actually the date for a follow-up to a talk show. Of course, it is still possible we might see SSSS.Gridman season 2 get announced during that show. But if anything noteworthy comes up, we’ll be sure to let you know!

    Just kidding, but it would be awesome.

    I hope S2 focuses either on Anti's new adventures as GridKnight or we get a sequel with the original Gridman characters returning. Although Trigger clearly made the cut between animation and real life with the ending, so having the old characters return might not work.

    Also, which design will they use? Since the new Gridman was a sealed version of OG Gridman.

    That makes me think that S2 might take place during S1 so they can use the same setting to tell new stories.

    Great that this show is getting a second season, but it starts in May?
    Might be a bit soon, since S1 just finished before Christmas. Not that I'm complaining or anything, but doesn't it usually take a while to do the animation.

    Was going to say.
    Didn't think there was enough material for more than 6 episodes yet anyway.

    But we should get some kind of announcement maybe later on that(spring/summer for a Fall premiere or next year for that).
    With how well SSSS did, I don't think Tsuburaya is going to let the Gridman franchise rest longer than a year before announcing a follow up.

    It proved way too beloved.
