Netflix’s official sci-fi/fantasy Twitter account @NXOnNetflix has confirmed that the Ultraman anime will be returning for second season! The first season of the anime adaptation of Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi’s ongoing manga series was released earlier this year, and adapted the first eight volumes of the series. This series is an alternative universe sequel to the original 1966 series, starring Shinjiro Hayata – the son of the original Ultraman Shin Hayata.
There is currently no confirmation of when season 2 will land, but stay tuned to Tokunation for more news as it comes!

Didn’t expect to see this but I’m down.
Maybe the animation can be a bit better this time though? No? Ok.

I still need to watch the first season. I hear the story and characters are adapted very well. I don't mind having iffy or bad animation if the story makes up for it.

From what I heard they got Liam O' Brian and DC Douglas for the dub so I should check this out

So far it has been fun. Season 2 will probably be shifting its focus on Taro at first probably like the manga I assume.

Yes! I thought it wouldn't be successful since 90% of people hate CGI anime, but this could be a good sign.
Maybe next Netflix wants to bring the live action Ultra series as well.

I've still got a couple of episodes left to watch, but I think it's pretty alright so far. I've definitely enjoyed it more as the series has progressed, so a second season might be cool!
