We don’t like posting spoilers as news but this is something that absolutely needs celebration now and when it finally airs around the world.
In an episode of Power Rangers Dino Fury – which is airing new episodes in France – the Green Ranger (Izzy Garcia) is revealed to be in a relationship with a young woman named Fern. Fans of Power Rangers know that the first “official” LGBTQ representation was in the 2017 Power Rangers movie. The character Trini, played by Becky G, was implied as being LGBTQ but never truly outright stated in the movie (the director and cast would embrace the implication as such however). There is no doubt left in the viewer’s mind after watching the episode of Power Rangers Dino Fury.
This is a huge moment in Power Rangers because the television show has notoriously skirted the issue of LGBTQ representation. Caleb Bendit, who played the comedy character Monty in Power Rangers Ninja Steel, has stated publicly that he would portray his character as having romantic feelings for the character Victor but that he was told to tone it down by show-runners. Even heterosexual relationships have been taboo in Power Rangers, with on-screen kisses being a big no-no (instead, characters showcase affection by holding hands).
Show-runner Simon Bennett has commented on the revelation of Izzy’s sexuality and openly stated that it was all signed off on by writers, producers, Nickelodeon, and Hasbro.
All we can say is – it’s about f-cking time! See the clip below! This episode of Power Rangers Dino Fury (Episode 13, “The Matchmaker” is scheduled to air on September 25th in the United States on Nickelodeon)

As you all know, in the most recent episode in France, we learned that our most recent Green Ranger, Izzy, is part of the LGBTQ community as she walks away at the end of the episode with a young lady named Fern for a date. This is a momentous occasion as it gives viewers and fans the first in-show LGBTQ relationship. While we had some LGBTQ representation in the past, most of the time it was only implied (like with Trini from Power Rangers (2017)) or only in printed material (Ari and Remi’s relationship in the Boom Studios comics)
What are your thoughts of the most recent reveal? (Remember to follow site rules).
Personally I’m all for it, cause to me, love is love. As long as you love the person you’re with and they love you back that’s what matters most.

Awesome!
Also, my Aunt's name is Fern. This is the first time I've ever seen it in a TV show!

My advice to everyone is to not read any comments on social media about it.
Anyway, I saw the scene yesterday as someone had clipped it. I felt the moment itself was nice, and hopefully it'll pave the way more representation in the future.
Haven't watched past the first episode of the show yet, but it seems like Dino Fury keeps giving people more and more reasons to love the Green Ranger, as per usual with this franchise.

It's about time, I'd say. PR's always been about acceptance and equality and how any and everyone can be a hero, so it only makes sense to finally have a ranger be part of the LGBTQ community.

Strange about the social media thing, cause I know it's being talked about in positive terms amongst some. Also, this franchise may have a history of hesitation, but it has LGBTQ fans, so why would anyone go nuts about this?
I love this level of inclusion and hope it shows that there is light out there! I also hope Nick doesn't hesitate and cut the episode, cause that's a step back that nobody needs. If they were smart, they would pause their SpongeBob marathons in favor of a Dino Fury marathon which leads into this episode's debut! Odds are they won't, but one can dream.
Here's hoping they'll be seen together in the future! We don't need franchise-changing moments to be one-and-done!

I hate to say this, but this episode actually will air in the middle of October; we gotta air the 3 currently Netflix-exclusive episodes first on TV before the new episodes air
