Power Rangers Dino Supercharge Purple Ranger 5 Inch Gallery

Posted on January 11, 2016 at 10:00 am by Chris under Power Rangers

It’s a new year and thus a new toy line is available for your favorite Power Rangers series! That’s right – Power Rangers Dino Charge is now Power Rangers Dino Supercharge and the toys are hitting all major retailers across the country (in various assortments that are causing collectors headaches … but we’ll touch on that at a later time!).

One of the sought after figures from the first wave is none other than the Purple Ranger, who made her debut in the season finale of Power Rangers Dino Charge. With thanks to our friend @doughwatchin on Twitter for helping us locate this figure (again, distribution and assortment selection is killing us), we present to you 40 images of some serious girl power!

How does she fare when compared to her mold counterpart the Pink Dino Charge Ranger? Check out our full review, along with the gallery, by either clicking here or clicking on the “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” link at the bottom of the post! Share your thoughts on this new figure!

It's time for our first gallery and review of an item from the brand new Power Rangers Dino Supercharge line, the continuation of Power Rangers Dino Charge! First up is the brand new Purple Ranger, who made her debut (well, at least the "her" part debut anyways!) at the season finale of Power Rangers Dino Charge!

(with special thanks to @doughwatchin on Twitter for helping me find this figure!)

Let's jump straight to the review!

    The Figure
Okay - let's cut straight to the chase. If you have the Pink Ranger 5" figure, then you have the Purple Ranger 5" figure but with different colors and a different helmet. That is literally the only difference between the two toys - the color and the helmet. Otherwise, they are identical in molding.

This means that the Purple Ranger suffers from the same leg articulation flaws that the last couple years of female Power Rangers figures have - meaning, they can bend their knees and that's it because the skirt (and molding underneath the skirt) totally destroys any actual leg articulation. That's a bummer - I'd love to be able to get her in to a cool pose like I can the male Rangers.

Otherwise, the arm articulation is standard with no issues (other than what little issues there are with the shoulder pad).

The biggest positive that this figure has is that it's just really pretty to look at. I did change lenses less than halfway through the shoot and you can tell by the picture quality increasing - and I don't know if that makes me love this figure so much or if it's just a more visually appealing figure. I don't know - you be the judge. For fun, I threw in some comparison shots with the Pink Ranger.

    The Accessories
We've seen them in nearly every Ranger figure release thus far - the flimsy plastic Dino Saber and Dino Charge Morpher. They are molded incredibly well, but the Saber suffers from bending. Depending on how it's packaged, you may have a bent noodle of a sword before you even get to start posing. It's a bummer that will not be fixed anytime during this line (or in next year's line if the Bandai Japan figures of Shuriken Sentai Ninninger come up next ... those 5" figures have the same flimsy plastic).

    The Good!

    • Very visually appealing
    • I love that we're getting EVERY Ranger this year!
    • Claire Blackwelder is my favorite actress on the show and now I have a toy of her - yay!

    The Bad
    • Standard "SMH" reaction to female Ranger's and their leg articulation - aka no articulation
    • Bent plastic swords ruin good photo-shoots
    • My figure had a lot of "mold damage" ... little pivots in the helmet, scuffs on the mask, etc. ... I edited a lot of them out in the pictures but I did leave some, I hope I just had a lemon and that not only the figures are like this in the future from mold overuse

    Overall Conclusion
Obviously, if you're collecting the Rangers then you need to pick up the Purple Ranger, if only because all we've had up until now is the vinyl figure out of Japan. While this figure is far from perfect (curse you leg articulation!), I still love how she looks, and think she's a worthy piece to add to your Ranger collection.

    Plus Claire Blackwelder is amazing.

Not a great figure, but pretty good! The color is a bit off, and it doesn't include the combined Dino Blade Blaster (which pretty much becomes Purple's signature weapon).

I certainly hope we get a male version as well, even if it's a Morphicon exclusive.

before I removed the skirt from my figure (cuz i want it to be more playble) I found that the bottom of the skirt was more prone to noticeable stress marks. Without the skirt, my figure has a really weak right hip and I'm wondering if anyone else is running into that issue.

So I ended up getting her and Aqua off ebay because I have little willpower and even though I know in a month or two she will be easier to find I wanted her asap and I love both her and Aqua. The color is weird that, under certain camera flashes, she looks very pink but in person she is a wonderful purple. The helmet is JUST different enough to make her different from Shelby.

I do wish they had, instead of giving us the saber and gun, given us the combined weapon to make her stand out from the group. I am debating on getting the Dino Steel figures and selling off my current main 5 figures and having her wield the gun, Aqua the sword, Graphite his fists, Gold his weapons, and when I get Silver his sword but for now she will have to just be another gun user with half the team.

Saw her along with Pink other other day at Walmart. Seriously debated picking them both up for my daughter so that she can have some Rangers for when her brothers are playing with their big 12" Dino Charge Rangers they got for Christmas. The limited leg articulation won't bother her, she's 2 and a half!
