Toys R Us is making a comeback! Sort of…in the aftermath of the beloved toy store’s bankruptcy, a new business venture has risen from the ashes and Geoffrey’s Toy Box may be coming to a store near you.
As reported by sister sites The Toy Ark and TFW2005, Geoffrey’s Toy Box will be a store-within-a-store concept akin to how companies like Samsung or Apple will have kiosks set up inside Best Buys and what not. This news comes after news broke out that plans to liquidate Toys R Us’ assets have halted, at the time of this writing there hasn’t been any news on when or where these stores within-a-stores will be popping up or in what capacity. The first batch of locations will be opening in November 2019.
While this seems like good news to some folks, do remember that Toys R Us’ closure left many people without jobs or severance in some cases, in addition to costing companies millions of dollars. Naturally, this move has raised a lot of eyebrows and questions in the collecting community. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on this story as more info becomes available. The Toys R Us Brand still continues to operate in Canada and some parts of Asia.
In the meantime, head on over to the discussion forums and let us know what you think about the toy retailer’s surprising return.

As I'm sure a lot of you are aware: TRU recently went to great lengths to halt the liquidation process, and it seems like the brand may be making a comeback under a new name as Geoffrey's Toy Box
Geoffrey's Toy Box will be a store-within-a-store concept, think of how Samsung or Apple will have kiosks set up at Best Buys and what not.
Currently, there's no news on when these mini-stores will be launching, but we'll be sure to bring you more info as it becomes available.

Nice. Probably better to do this than have big COSTCO-sized stores here and there. Kudos to them for deciding to restart.

My local Barnes and noble is doing a minor remodel with an expanded toy and game section. Any chance this could be Geoffrey space?

So would they basically be acting like a better mini toy section in stores?
Samsung and Apple actually produce products. It makes sense they'd be able to see their stuff. What would The Box being doing that the store itself couldn't do?

Hey this was a part of a massive PR scam by incompetent executives, and 30,000 people didn't get severance pay when Toys R Us closed down because of it. Don't support this.

This won't take off. KB Toys has a better chance at revival than TRU. Too much controversy surrounds Geoffrey's Toy Box for it to be successful. Many companies are refusing to do business with this new plan.
