Any reason why the monsters and Ultraman have to be CG?
ShiShiLeo says
CGI worked for Shin Godzilla and it did well. They will probably continue with that.

This was a very surprise drop, but WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
I'm so excited and giddy for this. I super appreciate that the design mentality seems to be to stick as closely as possible to the original designs. It tells me about how the confident the production team is about the original designs that they're mostly transplanting them instead of doing any radical modernazation.
kamen rider Q says
I mean, the CG doesn't look bad. I probably wouldn't have figured out that Ultraman himself is CG until you guys pointed it out.
TheTakoTank says
Glad to finally see a trailer. I hope we get some trademark Anno weirdness.
Shin Henshin says
I honestly don't get the CG complaints, those shots we got looked really good to me. Especially the kaiju.
ShiShiLeo says
Also you have to consider that while original toku fans love the old suits, there is a huge new generation of fans for which CGI is considered superior and expected.
Like today's kids laugh when they see the zipper on an Ultraman suit, but CGI is so much easier for them to suspect disbelief on. It's just a given form of entertainment.
