Kamen Rider vs Super Sentai Art Exhibit Nov.05-13

Posted on October 24, 2011 at 8:15 pm by cooksux under Kamen Rider, Super Sentai

Q Pop Shop presents:
‘ KAMEN RIDER VS. SUPER SENTAI’
November 05 – November 13, 2011
Opening Reception: Saturday, November 05, (7-11PM)

Los Angeles, CA – On November 5th 2011, Get ready for a kick ass show of epic proportions! Q Pop is celebrating its first birthday with a massive exhibition party at the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center (JACCC) to tribute popular Japanese culture icons Kamen Rider and the Super Sentai.

Fittingly, this year also marks milestones for both series, as Kamen Rider celebrates its 40th Anniversary and Super Sentai its 35th. Since 1971, generations have grown up with these “Supermen” of Japan.

The characters are so deeply infused in Japanese popular culture, it’s almost impossible to find someone that doesn’t know the theme songs from at least one of the many incarnations of either series. Moreover, the popularity of these superheroes has also extended well beyond Japan. Versions of Super Sentai have conquered in Europe, Brazil, and USA, and spin-off versions of Kamen Rider have spawned in Thailand, Taiwan, and USA. Both continue to be an inspiration and a source of entertainment to millions.

KAMEN RIDER VS. SUPER SENTAI has over 100 emerging and established artists from around the world re-interpreting either series in an exhibition of new and original drawings, paintings, and sculptures.

Come dressed in your finest, fighting garb and enter our Cosplay contest in a quest to win cool prizes courtesy of Anime Jungle. Groove to music spun by Tune In Tokyo DJs, and power-up with refreshments by popular Los Angeles food trucks.

This is an event no superhero or supervillian ought to miss!
