It’s time for TokuNation to take a dark turn down memory lane, all the way back to 1992. That was the year the film Shin Kamen Rider: Prologue was released. This film was the very definition of a grim gritty reboot for the beloved Kamen Rider franchise. As “Prologue” implies, this film was originally meant to set up a new rider TV series. Despite the films incredible practical & special effects, it’s dark re-imagining of the rider concept put off too many old school fans while simultaneously frightening new young fans of the time.
Until now Shin has been mostly relegated to making special appearances in Kamen Rider team-up films such as All-Riders VS Dai Shocker, Let’s Go Kamen Riders, or the Heisei VS Showa Taisen. But now Bandai & Tamashii Nations has shown the most monstrous of riders some serious love. Soon to be released is a Super Imaginative Chogokin figure of Shin. But that’s not all, recently released via the Tamashii Web Shop is S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Shin! And he’s the subject of today’s gallery as well!
S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Shin is the best representation of this rider’s grotesque form that’s ever been released. Though he’s lite in the accessories department, frankly Shin shouldn’t have any. He has no bike in his rider form, and unlike more modern riders Shin carries no weapons, and has never been shown to use any special powered up attacks. Instead relying on brute strength to fight other Cyborg Soldiers like himself. Click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post to see the full gallery of this fantastic figure!

The most monstrous rider of all is here! S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Shin!
**Post #2 contains a few bonus images.
Shin of course dates all the way back to 1992. That was the year the film Shin Kamen Rider: Prologue was released. This film was the very definition of a dark, grim, gritty reboot for the beloved Kamen Rider franchise. As the "Prologue" in the title would imply, this film was originally meant to set up a new ongoing rider TV series. However despite the films incredible practical & special effects, it lacked quite a bit in it's plot execution. The wildly different way in which it presented the rider concept put off too many old school fans while simultaneously frightening new child fans of the time. SO Shin has mostly been seen in team-up rider films since the Decade era, but that's about all.
S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Shin is a fairly straightforward release. Shin was a Tamashii Web Exclusive figure released just this past month. Of course Shin is one of the very few riders never seen to have ridden a bike in his rider form. Nor does he have any trademark weapons or special attacks that could warrant accessories or effect parts. So even though this is a pretty bare bones release it makes sense.
Shin includes 2 alternate versions of his head, each with his mouth splayed open to differing degrees. This helps replicate his various monstrous poses as he tore through the various other Cyborg Soldiers in his solo film. He hasn't really been seen to open his jaws quite in that way in his more recent appearances however. Shin also includes two more sets of hands for you to display him in various poses ready to take other figures in your collection down.
Seeing as there's a lack of accessories Shin really shines in the paint applications department. This bad boy is lavishly painted. He's absolutely monstrous and gorgeous. Down to the last application this guy is a near perfect representation of his on screen counterpart. He also has some really great deep red compound eyes. Unfortunately it's quite hard to capture the shine of his eyes without absolutely perfect lighting. Luckily he also has quite flexible antennae on all 3 of his heads so the chances of breaking them while swapping them out, are quite slim.
S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Shin might seem like a bare release. In fact he is, though it's appropriate. If you're a fan of his film (like myself) or his incredibly awesome design (again like me) then be sure to pick this fantastic figure up!

He really is a beautiful-looking figure from a paint and sculpt standpoint. Glad that Shin's getting love little by little as time goes on, from Rider Switches, Rings and Lockseeds to this and his S.I.C. release.

Hmm...Perhaps a blood splatter effect part could be given? I dunno
I need to watch Shin. I downloaded it ages ago but never got around to it.
Anyway, it's a nice looking figure. The paint really pops and it's actually surprisingly bright for a dark character (It might actually be too bright. His green looks more fitted to ZO or J).
I particularly liked the multiple heads, rather than having a functioning jaw on one head and just giving you 3 options.
But you missed one crucial picture.
You have a Stronger, Amazon, Ichigou, and Riderman, and I'm assuming a DCD and Kuuga, right?
