The S.H.Monster Arts line dives into yet another era of Godzilla, this one based on his Godzilla VS Biollante appearance.
S.H.Monster Arts Godzilla 1989 commands a very high price point with a suggested MSRB of 19,980 yen.
But what separates this King of Monsters from previous releases are a few built in features activated via a set of switches built into the figure’s neck: according to the product page the first function activates an LED gimmick which lights up the spines and mouth to replicate the iconic Atomic Roar attack, the second function seems to be a sound feature which plays BGMs straight from the movie.
S.H.Monster Arts Godzilla 1989 appears to be a standard release, and will drop sometime in October 2016.

Looks like Tamashii will be doing a S.H MonsterArts figure on Godzilla from Godzilla vs. Biollante (1989). It looks like it will be released in October and will be 19,980 yen. From the looks of it, it can light up and roar.

Wow...that price. I guess that is to be expected with the light up gimmick and apparent roaring. But even then, nearly $200 after shipping is a BIG pill to swallow. Heck even if it was cheaper I wouldn't probably do it since I own the NECA one. But at that price range I can easily pass on it.

Goddamn. Roars, music, lights. This is a hell of a figure. I admit, I'd go for it if there was money to spare, its probably the most impressive MA so far. But I'll be happy with GMK.

Hmmm....
Hmmmmmm.....

Seems like it can play BGMs too if the product page is correct.

So Godzilla has lights and sounds for only$200 not bad. Wow that's some monster art.
10.00 says bandai will release other Godzillas like this in the future.
If not then bandai will rerelease past Godzilla monster arts like the special color dragonball z Figuarts and add lights and sounds to them.
I knew it was another rabbit hole that bandai wanted to created with light up figuarts time will tell if this sells well or not.

I love this design.
However, the price is killer, even for a SHMA
Still though, I like the lights. Look quite nice~
Kiwami says
Oh boy, I hope they don't bite off too much here. Because I don’t really know anyone who was like "I need SHMA's with lights and sounds!" in the past. People are happy with what they got.
Also the price is not helping. I'm not usually someone who slaps Tamashii with the "Overpriced" tag, but double the price of a usual SHMA just for lights and sounds is... not good. Plus I know people who want this design in SHMA-form, but not like this, that'll stink for them too.
And of course, the fourth Godzilla figure this year. I really hope all of these sell well enough so that we can get something else than Big G himself.

More Heisei...
At least they are doing my favorite version of Godzilla from that era, but come on, when is Bandai going to showa love?
Wait, $200? Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

I hope they make a Final Wars version someday.
