Ressha Busou!
The train has made another pass at the TokuNation station for a glerry! Today we've got a doubled up one for you, the DX Car Carrier & Tank Resshas from Ressha Sentai ToQger! This pair was recently released ahead of their friend Diesel Ressha. We know they can combine with it to form Diesel Oh, but how do Tank & Car Carrier stand up on their own? Read on!
Let's start with Car Carrier Ressha. This one is definitely unique. By now the size of DX Reshas should be no surprise, these things are fairly small for DX's, but they usually pack a punch, and this one is no different. Car Carrier is another 2 car Ressha with a separating forward and rear section. Just like the 5 ToQ Oh Resshas, it has a square plug in the center that keeps the two ends combined and simultaneously facilitates combinations. Just as with the other and alternate train hitch is available for use.
Car Carrier's feature is of course it's car carrying ability! Sculpted into Car Carrier are all 5 of the TOQger "Cars". These mini racecar like vehicles are all non-removable save for Red's. It pegs right on top of Car Carrier. Blue is molded in place permanently, and the other store are "stored" inside Carrier permanently. Though the ability to remove red doesn't get you much, aside from a fear of losing it. As in show a ramp folds down to allows the cars to driver off. This Ressha can replace ToQ Oh's right forearm to create ToQ Oh Car Carrier. This arms is long and heavy.
Tank Ressha is the next Support Ressha in the line. This piece doesn't have quite as much functionality as Car Carrier. But it does look as nice. In Ressha form it has all the same basic features as it's predecessors. Though it has no gimmick. There honestly isn't much to say about this one on it's own. When split in half Tank Resha replaces both forerams of ToQ Oh to form ToQ Oh Tank. When Carrier & Tank are used simultaneosuly, ToQ Oh Car Carrier Tank is formed!
Now of course the main draw of these two is the upcoming combination Diesel Oh that they can achieve with the Diesel ressha. For now though with just these two in hand, I can show you the various moving joints and tabs that facilitate that future combo. As you can see they attach to ToQ Oh's legs with fold out clips. The way the open end of each of them points outward from the foot would suggest they have a purpose for future combos, but that's more of a guess. They can also be hilariously used as gigantic stilt leg for ToQ Oh is desired. There's lots of swap out fun possible.
I can't help but recommend DX Resshas. Despite what people may think, having these things in hand will sell you on them. These toys may look like bricks, but they are crisply painted, well engineered, fun toys. As cheap as the additional Resshas are you should definitely do yourself a favor and pick some of them up.

Tank definitely wins this for me. Carrier's cool but the lack of paint and the overall cheap look of the cars doesn't do much for me (Still buying it, onore-BoJ).

.....Where's the pic of ToQOh launching Tank Ressha?
I like these Ressha, but I wish there was a way to have all of them merged up at once; you can do most of them, but either Scope, Shield, or Energy is left out.
I wold leave out Energy because its size in-show is too big to be summoned.

I ordered these, then almost immediately regretted it. This gallery has helped me flip-flop into being excited again. I need to go track down that post that identified the track these things fit on, for when everything arrives.

I originally said I was passing on the trains, but in a moment of weakness inspired by a friend I ordered them. Now that I've had a chance to play around with the Resshas I don't regret it. These are definably items you need to get in hand to fully appreciate.

Glad other people got in with positives before me so I don't suck the fun out of these with my negativity, but really I think they're all huge misses.
I am honestly shocked that Car Carrier only has one removable car and no semblance of a launching gimmick considering that's the entire point of it in the show or that they didn't bother in even including a simple Gao Bear-esque punching gimmick for Tank Train or even a fuel pump. Its very BOA of them. They're just both really boring toys that could be forgiven if they looked liked awesome trains but really they don't. They're sort of justifiable as parts of Diesel-Oh but are really not worth separate releases in my opinion.
