The thunderous brave, Kyoryu Gold, has arrived!
S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Gold was recently released as a Tamashii Web Exclusive, and currently he’s the final Kyoryuger to be released in this line. We haven’t heard anything yet about the rest of the team but who knows. Oddly enough Kyoryu Gold is also not only the 6th Kyoryuger, but coincidentally he’s the sixth 6th ranger Figuart to be released, joining the ranks of Dragon Ranger, Gosei Knight, Shinken Gold, Kiba Ranger, & Gokai Silver.
Kyoryu Gold of course includes his trademark Zandar Thunder & Gaburi Changer as well as the final piece you’ll need to complete your S.H. Figuarts Kentro Spiker! Though the previous Kyoryuger releases are by no means bad, Kyoryu Gold is easily the best of the 6 released thus far. He’s an absolutely solid figure with crisp paint apps and so far top notch quality control. To see our full 40 image gallery of S.H. Kyoryu Gold, has arrived!
Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger is long over by now but the last (so far) figure from the series in the S.H. Figuarts line was recently released. S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Gold is yet another sixth sentai ranger to add to your collection. In fact, Kyoryu Gold is actually the 6th, 6th ranger SHF to be released. There's something kind of awesome about that. But more to the point, the figure!
S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Gold was recently released as a Tamashii Web Exclusive. As such he comes in the new and increasingly more common windowless style box. Not a problem if you ask me considering the nature of how exclusives are sold. However like most exclusives he doesn't come with a wealth of additional accessories.
For starters Utsusemimaru, or Uchy as his teammates loved to call him, is a gorgeous figure. The Kyoryuger mold has never looked this good. As the 6th release from Kyoryuger, bearing more than a few reused molded parts from his predecessors, he's a step above the rest. Perhaps it's the crisp gold paint or the gorgeous blue trim. Something about this figure really makes it shine, for lack of a better term. It has a fantastic range of motion as can be expected after 5 other releases in this similar body type. His shoulder armor is hinged to get out of the way for dynamic posing, and his wings are just the right size so as not to interfere with anything. Some have complained the wings are a bit on the small side, but they appear to be only slightly undersized. Effect parts of the wings enlarged and or flapping would have been nice but that's expecting too much from a TWE release.
I've yet to notice any glaring QC issue my Kyoryu Gold. Though I can't say all of them are perfect, I can say mine appears to be. Nice crisp paint applications, and strong solid joints go very far here.
As mentioned the accessory count is low but that's to be expected. Gold includes 5 extra hands, 2 of which are for his left wrist and make no damn sense. The Gaburi Changer is a separate piece despite being packed already attached to the left arm. It can be removed, and pegs into the wrist, and it can be taken out of the hand. Though there's no real purpose to this. The Changer was almost exclusively seen being grasped in his left hand in show footage. The two open left hands can't possibly be used in any realistic way with how this toy is designed. Having them open doesn't allow him any greater ability to hold something when that blue bar from the Change is still smack in the middle of his palm.
Kyoryu Gold's trademark weapon the Zandar Thunder sword is also included. The paint is exquisite on this bad boy, right down to the actual "Zandar Thunder" text which goes from the hand guard down the blade. It's a gorgeous weapon. Unfortunately though it's practically not functional. The Zandar can be opened to reveal what would have been the 3 Zyudenchi slots on the real deal. But the SHF opts not to hollow those spots out, leaving only tiny indentations instead. Which brings us to the next included accessory, a generic Zyudenchi that would appear to be the #6 Pteragordon Zyudenchi. However this item is useless due to the nature of the Zandar as designed here. It can barely be held in Kyoryu Gold's hand. Unfortunately a hand specifically meant for holding Zyudenchi's is not included with Gold.
The accessories are rounded out with the inclusion of the combined Fang Shot (Gabutyra Fang, Parasagun). This piece is meant to be used with the [B]Shield Lan Slasher[/B that came in the Kyoryu Blue & Green 2-pack to form the completed Kentro Spiker.
Overall S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Gold is yet another wonderful addition to the Kyoryuger line of SHF's. Each has been quite solid but he'd definitely the bast of the 6 released thus far. Here's hoping the rest of the team are eventually produced. Though if the last couple years have taught us anything, it's that sentai releases in this line are few and far between.

Great gallery, the gold paint on that figure looks amazing. I never got into Kyoryuger, but this kind of makes me wish I'd pre-ordered this guy.

Just not enough hands included and mine had a super loose left hip socket such that the leg would fall off if moved
Also should have come with some effects parts
Gorgeous paint and mold but Bandai coulda gone further with this package

I don't really thing having the flying wings is necessarily asking too much, while lately the accessory count for Sentai exclusives has been pretty abysmal with the Zyuranger, Bouken Black and Blue, Hurricane Yellow and Blue and especially the other Kyoryugers and Gouraigers have all come with a stellar amount of accessories, although a lot were reuses. Not to mention the Shinkenger and Gokaiger before them! I'm a little sad that they weren't included. I was hoping for a little ZANDAR THUNDER effect part similar to SRC Magiking and Shinkenoh's effects too, but oh well!
I do agree that he's fantastic and the best looking of the Kyoryuger though. Beautiful quality pictures! You should do some Kentrospiker pics too! I really love that accessory but posing them with it and not making it look awkward is super hard!
