Brave In!
It’s been a long time coming but TokuNation is continuing it’s series of gallery do-overs or as we like to call them, Gallery 2.0! Earlier this year we posted 2 such galleries, S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Red and S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Blue & Kyoryu Green. Now this segment returns for Toku Toy Box with a 2.0 Gallery of S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Black & Kyoryu Pink!
Kyoryu Black & Pink may have been out for a while now but that doesn’t diminish their excellence. Kyoryu Black of course shares the same excellent male Kyoryuger mold we’ve we’ve come to expect & Kyoryu Pink is an all body type! As with their Blue/Green predecessors this set comes with an array of accessories for themselves and also for the team. Their respective personal weapons the Parasagun & Drice Lance as well as Armed On Arms to compliment them, Gaburevolvers & Zyudenchi, Gaburicaliburs and an array of hands, and of course the Shield Lan Slasher parts needed to build the Kentrospiker!
We’ve assembled over 70 images of the S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Black & Kyoryu Pink set for your viewing pleasure. To see all of them as well as read an in depth review just click “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. We’ll be back with another 2.0 gallery next week as we reexamine S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Gold! And don’t forget this is gallery qualifies you for entry in our Toku Toy Box Giveaway! That means all you have to do is post something relevant to the conversation and you’re entered for a chance to win!

The Bullet Brave!
The Horned Brave!
We're picking back up where we left off for TokuNation's Gallery 2.0 do-overs with and we're back with another look at Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger! And this time we're doing S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Black & Kyoryu Pink Gallery 2.0!
** A majority of this review will be identical to my Kyoryu Blue & Green gallery 2.0 & review. These figures are nigh identical to those, for the most part, aside from accessories.
Packaging
Kyoryu Black & Pink come in the same interesting box that Kyoryu Red did. Though Sentai Figuarts haven't been around nearly as longs as Rider ones, they initially started out with the same boring box design but Kyoryuger figuarts are much nicer. Like the Kyoryu Blue & Green set this one is also a Tamashii Web Exclusive, so it's a windowless box.
Main Figure
Kyoryu Black feature the same base body as Kyoryu Red/Green/Blue. And wow what a nice one it still is. The Kyoryuger designs are some of the more busy modern sentai suits we've had in a while, and I mean that in a good way. Luckily the busyness, in fact the more armored nature of this design, lends itself that much more to being a toy. Where Riders Metal Heroes & the like have the advantage of armored costumes and less apparent articulation cuts, sentai costumes are basically fabric. So reproducing that in articulated toy form can be difficult. But the Kyoryugers really pull it off.
The lower half of the body is simple stuff. Come up to the belt though to check out glorious detail on the Mobuckle. It's hard to see at that scale but the Kyoryuger emblem and even the eyes on the sides of the buckle are fully painted. The Mobuckle can also rotate to the side to simulate it's functionality without opening. At this scale though they couldn't engineer it to do that. But that's okay as the included Zyudenchi is tiny. Further up brings us to the exquisitely molded arm details. Rather than go for a fishnet style paint job on the arms to get the scaly feel of the costume, Bandai has instead sculpted the detailing into the arms themselves! Thus creating a much more polished look that works better than I ever thought it would.
The chest and head though are where the figures really knock it out of the park. As I said the more armored nature of these figures lend themselves well to the toy makeover. The chest emblems, sash, shoulder, & backs are all gloriously detailed and fully painted. The Parasagun emblem in particular looks great.
Now onto Kyoryu Pink we have much of the same awesomeness. The body is of course different with a smaller build and new parts like the skirt and chest. However unlike previous female sentai releases the skirt already has some side cuts in it but there's no alternate one include for wider posing. Which is a bit unfortunate as herdefault skirt can actually be a bit restrictive. The overall design is just as nice as what we got with Kyoryu Black. All the same features a present here. The excellent arm details, headsculpt, and paint applications (like the Dricera emblem) just knock it out of the park.
And as for posability, well see for yourself below. Kyoryu Black & Pink (much like Red, Green, & Blue) can assume any of their iconic poses with ease and pretty great balance as well. The shoulder armor doesn't impact articulation either thanks to the hinge on the pad. So these two have great open ranges of movement at their disposal. Again the only issue with Pink is her skirt. Her smaller stature actually helps to center her gravity a bit lower so I feel like despite being so lite weight she tends to balance very well. One oddity though is that even though Bandai went to the trouble to create a new smaller body for Kyoryu Pink, they've never reused it. This female molding could have very easily been re purposed for Kyoryu Violet II or Kyoryu Cyan II. But with Sentai figuarts being mostly dead at this point it isn't terribly surprising that they never did that.
Accessories
Kyoryu Black & Pink also come loaded down with a basically perfect assortment of what you need. Each of them come with:
1 - Gaburevolver. The trademark weapon/henshin device of the Kyoryugers is done true justice here. You'd think at this size it would be missing paint apps but frankly it's perfect. It's just incredible how perfectly to scale this thing is painted compared to the real thing. Now the barrel doesn't spin nor can it open up on the end to accept Zyudenchi, but considering how small the Zyudenchi for these figuarts are that's fine. Once you got one in I'm sure it would never come out again.
1 - Generic Zyudenchi. Though by association these should be Parasagun's & Dricera's Zyudenchi respectively, they simply aren't painted correctly. Though to be fair none of the 6 Kyoryuger Figuarts have Zyudenchi with entirely accurate colors. But that's mostly because at this scale it's nigh impossible to paint properly. So some general colors are slapped on so you get a feel for it. Again this thing is infinitesimally small and I won't use it for anything again ever. I'm fine with it being kind of generic.
1 - Gaburicalibur. Again this is a wonderfully detailed piece. Right down to the most minor details this is a perfect recreation of the show prop. Again it does not open or accept batteries and I'm totally okay with that. What I'm not okay with however is that the Gaburevolver & Gaburicalibu do not combine into the Gaburicannon. Nor is a separately molded version of it included with any figuart.
4 - sets of additional hands. For your general needs. You get one set of Revolver hands, one set of Calibur hands, and one set of splayed out roll call pose hands. Kyoryu Pink also gets 2 open palm hands while Kyoryu Black only gets 1. However in Kyoryu Pink's case I have to make note that for some reason they skimped and just repacked her with male hands rather than going for a smaller sculpt.
1 - Armed On Arm. A great inclusion here is the option to display either of your figures in their Armed On forms! To use these you need to (pretty forcefully) yank out the right arms at the shoulder socket. Then plug the new one on. I've found this to be infuriatingly difficult to do. Most of the time I can get them more or less on but can't always get that last "click" to lock them into place. But when you do, and then the arm stays up properly, the look is very satisfying. This technically also allows you to display any of your Kyoryugers as their 100 Years After descendants.
1 - Parasagun. Kyoryu Blacks's trademark side arm, the Parasagun is an impressive looking weapon with nice crisp paint apps. My only real gripe about it relates to hands, as ones that can firmly hold it and are actually intended for use with it are not included. You can almost make it work with his Gaburevolver hands but the fit isn't snug. As I've said with the Armed On weapons in the past the sculpt and details are cartoonish in a good way as they're very faithful to the show props.
1 - Drice Lance. Kyoryu Pinks handheld Drill weapon the Drice Lance is another beautifully sculpted piece that looks like it walked right off the set. While ALL of the other individual Armed On weapons included with the 5 other Kyoryugers are not compatible to combine with one another this particular version of the Drice Lance can do that! Kyoryu Pink can hold this one as a weapon or just as easily use the version included in the Kyoryu Blue & Green 2-pack. The one in this set can actually combine with the next accessory to form half of the Kentrospiker!
1 - Shield Lan Slasher - one of 2 mid-level weapon combos before forming the finisher Kentrospiker, the Shield Lan Slasher is made up Kyoryu Pinks Lance and a molded as 1 piece set of the Stego Shield & Zakutor Slasher. Again the individual weapons can't combine, so Bandai has included the combo weapons to allow you to build the Kentrospiker. Though in order to see the finalized Kentrospiker you'll need to tune back in for my Kyoryu Gold Gallery 2.0!
Final Thoughts
As with Kyoryu Red, Green, & Blue, S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Black & Pink come with almost everything they could ever need. Gaburicannon issue aside these two are as equally perfect as Red. As before these are just damn near perfect representations of the characters they're meant to be. And luckily prices have steadily gone down for this set to much more affordable levels than when it was released. Do yourself a favor and try to do some bargain hunting for this set. You won't regret it!

Is it just me or does Pink's head look a little small? Either way these are amazing figures, shame they're practically impossible to get without spending a ton of money now...

These Figuarts were made very well in my opinion. It doesn't help that I'm partial to the Parasaurolophus...

It's still a crying shame Sentai Figuarts aren't a thing anymore because the Kyoryuger ones hold up even to this day. I'm not a dinosaur fan but these suits just look right and who knows?
Perhaps with enough input we'll see Sentai Figuarts once again.

Ah some Sentai Figuarts, the only ones I own are Armored Tyranno Ranger and Dragon Ranger. I should really look into some Kyoryuger ones to get them to go with them.
That being said I do enjoy these two a lot, and if I had to choose between them and Green/Blue, I would pick these two. There's just something about their designs that I enjoy over Green and Blue. It's also cool that they come with armed on arms, the weapons, and parts to form the Kentrospiker.

I talked with a user from RangerBoard and they said that BlueFin is pushing attention away from PR/Sentai which is a sort of confirmation that they are done for the time being.
That statement is odd because when you try to push attention away from the PR & Sentai figuarts, you're only gonna get more and more people breathing down your neck asking why you've stopped.
Guyver Spawn says
Well Sentai figuarts don't seem to sell that great. That's why the PR/Sentai figuarts line is probably on hold for now.
Hyre says
The weapons look really good. I wonder why Bandai doesn't do a box-set at a reduced price though if the lines are slow to move?
