Proving that the S.H. MonsterArts line perhaps isn’t quite as stagnant as collectors are beginning to think, Bandai Tamashii Nations have revealed that a 1954 version of Godzilla based on his original appearance will be joining the line as a mass release figure in July.
This news comes hot on the heels of the previously revealed 2001 GMK Godzilla, which is due out as a web exclusive the previous month.
Pricing and accessory details are yet to be revealed, so stay tuned for further information on this big release for the S.H. MonsterArts line!

I'd get this if I could get this.
Kiwami says
Oh yeah, kick ass! Definite purchase. It will be in the weird shorter Showa-scale I'd imagine, but still: Must have!
Man getting this and potentially Ultraman Figuarts in July... this will be one hell of a month!
Phantom Stranger says
Both this and GMK...
I've never been so conflicted.
*sigh* I believe size and price will be the deciding factors for me.
Lbsammills51 says
Well I'll be goddamned.
I'll be curious about size, but even as a one-off it'll be nice to own.
If SHMA is slowly rising from the dead, get back to announcing Ultra-Acts too, Bandai. I'll settle for exclusives if that's how it has to work, just make the damn things.
Kiwami says
But I hope they scrap that idea and just make this one the same size as the Heisei and Millennium Godzillas.
Dr Kain says
I have to be honest, I'm not feeling it. It's probably because NECA's is nearly perfect that I can't see this one being better in anything but the tail. I'll probably still preorder it from BBTS just in case, but I'll wait until people have the item in hand before I decide to drop the (likely) $75+. This one is also missing some of the muscle the original suit had and looks more like the 55 suit minus the head.
XW1n5t0nX says
Yeah...I'ma stick with NECA on this one.
Castellan Zilla says
Blows the NECA out of the water. The head sculpt alone makes this a must purchase for me. NECA gave it their best try, but their limitations are always obvious when the Tamashii Overlords roll in.
DrPrime says
Wow! This is really exciting news It looks awesome too IMHO.
