Numerous sources including Deadline, Variety, and cbr.com are now reporting that Legendary’s upcoming Pacific Rim Uprising sequel has been delayed.
Initially set for release February 23 2018, Pacific Rim Uprising will now see a release date of March 23 2018.
To put this into perspective: Pacific Rim Uprising’s biggest hurdle that month would’ve been Marvel’s Black Panther, which would’ve been released February 9th. Unfortunately, this change now puts the Kaiju/mecha smack down right in between the 2018 Robin Hood movie and Ready Player One.
We’ll see how well this change bodes well for the movie. In the meantime, stay tuned and we’ll bring you more up to date info as it becomes available.

So it seems like the Pacific Rim sequel's been delayed by a month, as being reported by a number of sources:

Now it's going to be released March 2018 instead of its initial February release date.
Which means the film won't be competing against Black Panther but instead will be going up against Robin Hood and Ready Player One.

I didn't even know it was even really happening given how many times they kept saying it wasn't.

Could do better at the BO now that it isn't going against Black Panther

I saw the trailer for this Ready Player One and it looks like Nostalgic Porn push to the max. I feel like the whole movie is like "Hey look at this reference!".
