Figma Rikka Takarada Release Info

Posted on June 10, 2019 at 12:43 pm by Kiryu under General Tokusatsu News, Ultraman

Last year, Studio Trigger surprised both the Anime and Toku communities with their hit series: SSSS.Gridman show. We’ve seen no shortage of merchandise from this show, especially when it revolves around two of the show’s most popular female characters: Rikka Takarada and Akane Shinjo. Earlier in the year, Max Factory announced at Winter Wonder Fest that those two aforementioned characters will be coming to the popular Figma line of action figures and we saw the prototype of Rikka Takarada at the event. Max Factory’s finally gearing up to release this figure into the wild, and of course, we now have a plethora of new images for Figma Rikka Takada.

The Figma line is known for coming with a plethora of different accessories, facial expressions, and swappable parts and it seems like Figma Rikka Takarada will be no exception. Figma Rikka Takarada is packed to the brim with different facial expressions, hand options, and hair options for perfect for any occasion or photo gallery in addition to the signature clear display stand that all Figmas come with.

The price for Figma Rika Takarada isn’t known, but we know she’ll be released sometime in November 2019. We’ll be sure to update this article as soon as the pricing is known so stay tuned!

    It looks perfect, as expected.

But I couldn’t care less about this if I tried. Sorry, as much as I like these characters, I see no need to own highly articulated action figures of them.

Nothing bad to say about the product, though I feel like we're stretching what counts as tokusatsu with this being covered here!

7500Y according to Goodsmile. Also the Special Dog is a Goodsmile store exclusive.

Wait... she's a full head shorter than Gridman, obviously less paint and articulation, but costs 10 bucks more? What? Is this popular character tax or am I missing something?

Also, gotta love the exclusive accessory garbage. I don’t want this figure and it's actually not a key accessory but it still sucks.

It's from an anime based on a Tokusatsu that is a direct sequel to said series. It even has one live action scene in it. We've covered the Garo anime and associated figuarts numerous times in the past as well. If something has an established connection, in this caseÃ* being a new medium for the same property, then we tend to cover it.

It would've been a lot harder for me to say "no" to if this had come out even six months ago right after the show ended and I was still on a Gridman high, but... Yeah, the combination of holding back the Dog, the pricepoint, and just plain timing does Rikka nothing to warrant my attention. I've got Sabers to pay for this year and 7500 is already TYPE-MOON-level character taxing.

This time last year I would've jumped on this with no second thoughts. Now though... I just hope she and Akane sell well enough for us to get Yuuta.

That's a factor I hadn't considered but can totally understand. They can’t depend on the hype anymore, the show is over, it was fantastic, but I kinda moved on. Especially now that the one figure I ordered turned out to be overpriced crap.

You know better than me that before any male character happens they'll do both Akane and Rikka in swimsuits. I already hate it for being a possibility, all this girls-in-swimsuit related merch for Gridman creeps me out big time.

While I don't hold the same revulsion for erotic depictions of fictional characters, as a figma collector since the very first one over a decade ago (I have like... over a hundred now?), they almost never do swimsuit versions of characters and stick to signature outfits - something I always appreciated about the line as I myself don't care for swimsuit versions. I think they've only ever done like two? Saber and Sonico.
