Gaoranger Dub “Power Rangers Jungle Force” returns to South Korea

Posted on December 5, 2019 at 9:19 am by Den-O under Power Rangers, Super Sentai

UPDATE 8:45 PM EST – Toys are not being reissued as a part of the show coming back to South Korea.

In a pretty odd turn of events, South Korea is set to see it’s third out with Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger in 2020! This news comes straight from Yong San Power Rangers event, which you can see a video of HERE from youtube channel [림호]Tokusatsu. Gaoranger, like many sentai, has a bit of an odd history in South Korea. Super Sentai had been imported to the country since 1989 with Flashman. However in 1994, the first season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was imported and dubbed in Korean as “Invincible Power Rangers”.

The trend of Power Rangers being imported and dubbed continued until 2003 when Power Rangers Wild Force was brought in as “Power Force Rangers”. After this point Super Sentai was directly imported and dubbed again. Jump to 2010 and Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger was at last imported in it’s original form and dubbed over as “Power Rangers Jungle Force”, in lieu of airing Shinkenger, which at the time was seen as too Japanese for the Korean market. Now, it looks as though South Korea will once again be seeing Gaoranger next year in it’s Jungle Force dub, set to stream on the Korean Power Rangers youtube channel!

DX toys for this series are not being reissued, they were merely on display at the event to promote the youtube streams.

If it's a limited release I expect them to be. If they are a standard release they might be expensive at first and then might drop in price after awhile, that is if production exceeds demands.

I had the Korean Mecha in its original release. The plastic was different compared to the Bandai US versions and they seemed to be more susceptible to breaking.

My GaoDeer seems perfectly fine frankly.

It's been confirmed now that the toys are actually not being re-released. The show will stream online, making it available again for the first time in a decade. But as of now, no toys release planned.

Personally I wish this would get the Dinoforce Brave treatment and bring about a whole new series of releases but that's a pipe dream.
