New York Toy Fair: Hasbro Buildable Mighty Morphin Dino Megazord On Display

Posted on February 22, 2020 at 5:06 pm by Den-O under Conventions, Power Rangers, Toy Fair

It’s Morphin’ Time once again as Hasbro takes a stab at the classic Dino Megazord from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers! Revealed via leaked listing information yesterday, this officially display prototype of the set gives us our first look at it from New York Toy Fair. Our man on the ground TokuChris was kind enough to snap several photos for us as well as share some first impressions.

The Buildable Dino Megazord is roughly the size of Bandai America’s old 2010/Legacy mold Megazord, Hasbro sought to re-reate the classic play pattern of the Megazord for the original series, this release is intended for kids and will be released in 3 parts, each priced at $14.99. The T-Rex with Sword, the Triceratops with Sabertooth Tiger, and Mastodon with Pterodactyl. Hasbro’s official description of the set reads as follows:

The Mighty Morphin Rangers call upon their powerful Zords to lead the Rangers into battle. The BUILDABLE DINO MEGAZORD Assortment includes the TYRANNOSAURUS REX DINO ZORD figure, TRICERATOPS AND SABERTOOTH TIGER DINO ZORD 2-pack figures and MASTODON AND PTERODACTYL DINO ZORD 2-pack figures. Combine all figures to build the DINO MEGAZORD. To protect the Earth, the Tyrannosaurus Rex Dinozord carries the Mighty Morphin Red Ranger into battle, while the Sabertooth Tiger and Triceratops Dinozords carry the Mighty Morphin Blue and Yellow Rangers into battle and the Mastodon and Pterodactyl Dinozords carry the Mighty Morphin Black and Pink Rangers into battle. Kids can imagine the Rangers blasting into battle and joining their teammates to form the Dino Megazord!

Gaoranger Dub “Power Rangers Jungle Force” returns to South Korea

Posted on December 5, 2019 at 9:19 am by Den-O under Power Rangers, Super Sentai

UPDATE 8:45 PM EST – Toys are not being reissued as a part of the show coming back to South Korea.

In a pretty odd turn of events, South Korea is set to see it’s third out with Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger in 2020! This news comes straight from Yong San Power Rangers event, which you can see a video of HERE from youtube channel [림호]Tokusatsu. Gaoranger, like many sentai, has a bit of an odd history in South Korea. Super Sentai had been imported to the country since 1989 with Flashman. However in 1994, the first season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was imported and dubbed in Korean as “Invincible Power Rangers”.

The trend of Power Rangers being imported and dubbed continued until 2003 when Power Rangers Wild Force was brought in as “Power Force Rangers”. After this point Super Sentai was directly imported and dubbed again. Jump to 2010 and Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger was at last imported in it’s original form and dubbed over as “Power Rangers Jungle Force”, in lieu of airing Shinkenger, which at the time was seen as too Japanese for the Korean market. Now, it looks as though South Korea will once again be seeing Gaoranger next year in it’s Jungle Force dub, set to stream on the Korean Power Rangers youtube channel!

SDCC Exclusive Soul Of Chogokin SOC GX-72B Black Megazord Gallery

Posted on October 2, 2018 at 10:40 am by Den-O under Power Rangers, Super Sentai, TokuNation, TokuNation Site Updates, TokuNation Spotlights

“We need Megazord power, NOW!”

SDCC had some powerful exclusives for Power Rangers collector’s this year. Exclusives that are now making the rounds at a number of North American conventions such as Fan Expo Canada and New York Comic Con. Today, we’re taking a look at by far the most spectacular of these exclusives with the SOC Soul of Chogokin GX-72B Black Megazord!

The Black Megazord/Daizyujin is an elaborate repaint of the original SOC release, primarily in black, with a plethora of gorgeous gold trim, green accents, and silver chrome. This color scheme is directly inspired by and meant to compliment the Soul of Chogokin Dragonzord/Dragon Caesar, which is a bit of a different take on the black repaint tradition than we usually get for MMPR or Zyuranger. Each of the Zords functions identically to the first release, but they look so spectacular in these new colors. We’ve included a number of comparison shots with the first release, with some fun mix & match possibilities as well.

Attached are 120 images of this gorgeous set. You can also read up on our full review of SOC Black Megazord in the full gallery thread by clicking “Discuss on the TokuNation Forums” at the bottom of this post. And don’t worry if you’ve missed one of it’s various con releases either, it’s being made available through the Tamashii Web Shop in Japan next year as well.

Soul of Chogokin GX-85 King Brachion Official Images

Posted on August 31, 2018 at 6:37 am by Den-O under Power Rangers, Super Sentai

Revealed originally at Power Morphicon, and confirmed for release via Figure Oh, we finally have official images for the SOC Soul Of Chogokin GX-85 King Brachion!

The mighty Brachion (Titanus for those of us in the west) rounds out the MMPR/Zyuranger Chogokin collection for many fans. These official images give us a great sense of the impressive scale of this figure next to the other Guardian Beasts and shows off the combined Ultimate Daizyujin/Dino Ultrazord mode.

SOC King Brachion/Titanus will be released as a general retail item in February 2019 for 29,160 yen.

Soul of Chogokin GX-85 King Brachion AKA Titanus Release Info

Posted on August 21, 2018 at 12:18 pm by Den-O under Power Morphicon, Power Rangers, Super Sentai

Thanks to some fresh scans floating around from this month’s Figure Oh we have release information on a selection of new S.H. Figuarts, but more on that in a minute. In the mean time this issue has just confirmed official release information for Soul of Chogokin GX-85 King Brachion! This figure was just revealed to be in the works at this weekend’s Power Morphicon 2018 under it’s western release as Soul of Chogokin Titanus.

Figure Oh confirms that King Brachion is headed for a February 2019 release at 29,160 yen. Which seems to be a bit under most people’s expectations on price. Brachion also appears to be a general retail release, likely because of it’s western distribution as Titanus. With these confirmations we can expect official images of the figure to be released in the new future. When they are, we’ll be sure to update our ongoing discussion thread.
