Energize, Engage!
This one’s a little bit late but we’ve finally got a gallery and review ready to share of the NYCC 2015 Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie Dino Charger Power Pack! And we’ve also included the concurrently released Toys ‘R’ Us exclusive Ninja Mega Falconzord Charger in this gallery!
The Movie Dino Charger pack is one supremely nice con exclusive as you’ll see in the photos attached to this article and in the full gallery. The packaging for this set is identical to the SDCC MMPR Charger Pack, all 6 Ranger Chargers are included and a spot is reserved on the end for the Ninja Mega Falconzord Charger. The 6 Movie Ranger Chargers feature the helmets, personal weapons, & Ninja Zords for each ranger as well as the Original Movie Logo within the rotating prism. While the Ninja Mega Falconzord Charger features a group shot of the team, the White Ranger Morpher & a full image of the Ninja Mega Falconzord itself!
We’ve assembled 80 images of this magnificent set after the jump as well as an in depth review. But first why not check out this brief video below showcasing the sound effects that these chargers make when interacting with the Dino Charge Morpher!

Energize, Engage!
New York Comic Con 2015 may have come and gone but we've got at least one souvenir to remind us of the show. It's the Exclusive Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie Dino Charger Power Pack! And the accompanying Toys 'R' Us exclusive Ninja Mega Falconzord Charger as well! Read on below for a review and gallery of this exclusive grouping, and be sure to check out the brief video attached to this story to see what sounds these exclusive Dino Chargers make in the Dino Charge Morpher!
** It should be noted that technically the Megazord Charger would be the incorrect one to go with this set as it has the wrong wording of the name. That Charger is explicitly labeled as "Ninja Mega Falconzord" which is the TV version of the name. While the actual mecha featured in the movie was referred to as the "Ninja Falcon Megazord". It's minor but worth pointing out.
Packaging
What became the norm for Bandai America's previous Power Rangers con exclusive Ranger Key sets has now transitioned to Dino Chargers. Although this is only the 2nd set we've seen of them, I'm sure more will follow. The packaging is the same kind of long box door style box that the SDCC Mighty Morphin TV Series Dino Chargers were packaged in. Since this is Original Movie tie-in merchandise the front flaps of course feature the movie logo and White Ranger, being the most marketable member of the team. The back of the box features some nice head shot artwork of the whole team and the Ninja Megafalconzord as well as a brief overview of the Movie's plot.
Open the velcro flap on the front to feast your eyes on this beautifully packaged set of Dino Chargers. As with the previous con exclusive set this is a fantastic presentation that feels the right level of fancy for an exclusive. Again we're treated to artwork of the rangers on each flap, only a bit more detailed this time. The packaging itself presents the Dino Chargers in the order that the Movie Rangers would traditionally stand when morphed such as on the DVD box art. The box has each of the rangers' names below their corresponding Charger as well. From left to right; Billy, Rocky, Tommy, Kimberly, Aisha, Adam. The 7th slot in this set is a special placeholder for the sold separately Toys 'R' Us Exclusive Ninja Megafalconzord Charger! A small flap with artwork of the Megazord is placed here to represent it until you get that one in hand, something which I already have for this review. The nice thing about this set is that it isn't taped or sealed shut. So you can easily open it to get that flap out of there once you have the final charger. The Dino Chargers themselves are packed into a small plastic tray within a cardboard insert.
Dino Chargers
Each of the Power Rangers Movie Dino Chargers is painted in a really gorgeous metallic silver. Something really befitting of a con exclusive pack. Much like the metallic Ranger Key sets we've gotten in recent years. Each one of the Chargers of course has it's own unique markings to go over as well. Each of them in default mode features the helmet of a movie ranger on a holofoil surface inside the middle of the charger. Standard stuff for Dino Chargers. What's really cool to see here is that each Charger has artwork on the end based on each rangers Ninjetti or Ninjazord! This is really fascinating as the Dino Charger artwork is a hold over from the Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger collectible Zyudenchi gimmick. So seeing this set of Zords interpreted through that art style is kind of amazing. From left to right; Wolf, Ape, Falcon, Crane, Bear, Frog, & Ninja Megafalconzord head.
Each of these Chargers also features what standard Dino Chargers do, and that's 3 additional images within the rotating prism. Simply press the button to cycle through each. However these are a bit more unique than cycling through active and inactive dinosaur images. Each Movie Dino Charger features the Rangers helmet at default but the 1st click brings you to their Movie exclusive weapon or power-up! But that's not all, here's the breakdown of what each Dino Charger will yield when clicked:
Wolf Charger - Blue Ranger Helmet>Stega Stinger>Wolf Ninja Zord>Movie Logo
Ape Charger - Red Ranger Helmet>Power Scope Helmet>Ape Ninja Zord>Movie Logo
Falcon Charger - White Ranger Helmet>Saba>Ninja Falconzord>Movie Logo
Crane Charger - Pink Ranger Helmet>Pterodactyl Thunder Whip>Crane Ninja Zord>Movie Logo
Bear Charger - Yellow Ranger Helmet>Power Beam Helmet>Bear Ninja Zord>Movie Logo
Frog Charger - Black Ranger Helmet>Movie Power/Blade Blaster>Frog Ninja Zord>Movie Logo
Ninja Mega Falconzord Charger - Team Helmet Shot>White Ranger Morpher (Falcon)>Ninja Megafalconzord>Movie Logo
This is a pretty creative way to get some variety out of each of these Chargers, though I can't help but feel that Black Ranger (Adam) got the short end of the stick by merely having the Power Blaster on his Charger. Though he got the shaft in the movie as well with no special weapon or power-up making an appearance. And the White Ranger Morpher being on the Megazord Charger seems a bit odd, but it works. All in all this is an excellent execution of the Dino Charger gimmick. The only other notable feature of these Movie Dino Chargers is the name of the aformentioned Ninja Zord on the back of each as well as a unique QR Code on the front of the charger.
All of these chargers are of course compatible with the previously released Dino Charge Morpher and any other Dino Charger compatible toy released in this line. We'd known for some time that a some special sound effects were programmed into the Dino Charge Morpher and this set activates one. Just at the SDCC 2015 MMPR Dino Chargers did, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie Dino Chargers, all 6 in fact activate the "Comic-Con" sound byte! The separately sold Ninja Mega FalconzordCharger activates the "Legendary" sound byte much like the Dino Megazord Charger released at Toys 'R' Us earlier this year.
Final Thoughts
As far as convention exclusives go this is a creative one. It was interesting when Bandai created the Mighty Morphin Charger set for SDCC this year and then sold a Dino Megazord Charger separately. But I can honestly say I wasn't expecting an original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie Dino Charger Power Pack. I'm happy to report that I feel this set was executed much better than that one as well. The colors jsut really pop and the set definitely feels like more of a premium con release.
